    The Impact of Sequestration Cuts

    March 1 cuts could hurt those already on the edgeAutomatic budget cuts are set to take affect on Friday, March 1if Congress doesn't reach a budget agreement. Cuts wouldimpact discretionary programs including:

    WIC (nutrition program for women and children)TEFAP administration (emergency food assistanceprogram)Meals on Wheels, and more.

    Some of the people Kalamazoo Loaves & Fishes serve rely onthese programs to supplement their nutritional needs. Any cutscould seriously undermine our community and nation's safety netfor the most vulnerable residents.

    Join Us for Empty Bowls Grand FinaleKLF partners with local elementary on April 26

    You're invited to an evening offood, local art and the simple joyof eating together during the finalEmpty Bowls event in our 2013series. Join us at Prairie RidgeElementary School, 2294 S. 9thSt., on Friday, April 26 from5:30-7:30 pm.

    This is an opportunity to enjoy asimple community meal as thestudents display their handmade ceramic bowls, meant tosymoblize all of the empty bowls and plates local children faceevery day. There will also be a silent auction of professionallymade ceramic pieces!A $5 donation per household is suggested, which includes a mealfor everyone and one student-made ceramic bowl to take home.
