      Glasgow High School Junior Morgan Guttenbergis in the process o putting together a Snack-Packprogram or the elementary students in the GlasgowPublic School system.  Te idea originated afer Morgan attended a retreatregarding the growing problem o childhood hunger in

    Montana. At the retreat, Morgan learned about actionsthat could be taken to help end this problem. Her goawith this program is to provide healthy snacks on theweekends to those children in need.  She has contacted a number o local businesses orhelp with the program and has had phenomenal supportNow she needs the help o the community membersOn Saturday morning, April 9th, GHS Key Club andGHS Student Council members will be canvassing theresidential areas o Glasgow collecting items to use inthe Snack-Pack program.

    Kindergarten Royalty Contest Search   Laura Rebekah Lodge #19 is again looking for 20 Valley CountyKindergartners for 2016. The contest will run from April 15th to May13th. Ballot boxes will be placed in 15 Valley County businesses.Contestants are voted on by placing money in voting boxes in the slotunder the child’s picture. Each cent will count as a vote. Votes will becounted twice a week and the results will be in the paper for four weeks.The nale of the KRC will be May 14th, 2016. Contestants need to bepresent to win. The King, Queen, Prince, Princess, and runners-up willbe crowned and receive sashes to keep.

      After the children enjoy royal cupcakes and drinks with theirfamilies they will take home large prize bags, with items donated bylocal businesses. As the Rebekahs are small in numbers, the Girl ScoutTroop 2464 will be doing their leg work for them.       OBITUARY

    Harold Sethne

      HAROLD R. SEHNE,age 91, lef this earthly worldor his heavenly home onMarch 25, 2016. He passed

    away as peaceully as he lived,surrounded by his daughters.

    Harold was born in Glasgow,Montana to Norwegianhomesteaders Oscar and Clara(Nordrum) Sethne on August 9, 1924. His parents and siblingslived on his uncle Rangvald’s homestead in the Fuhrmancommunity. In first grade he attended the North FuhrmanSchool and at age six his amily moved to Glasgow. Teamily spent their weekends and summers at the arm. Afergraduating rom Glasgow High School he attended college in

    Bozeman. As his ather’s health declined he returned to thearm where he began his long career o tilling the land andconsolidating amily homesteads into the Sethne arm.  While a patient at the Glasgow hospital, he met a youngnurse named Kathryn (Kitty) Sedlacek and on Oct. 12, 1947she became his nurse, wie, and helpmate or lie. Teycontinued to arm and raised two daughters, Karen Dehn andJanet Gabriel. Teir love or the land continued on to the nextgeneration.  During the 70 years he operated the Sethne arm Haroldserved on the Glasgow hospital board, Valley County electionboard, and Lutheran Church committees. He was known as a

    trusted neighbor and loyal riend.Harold and Kitty became Arizona snowbirds and golers

    in 1972. Tese years in the warm sun produced close riendsand ond memories. However, they always looked orward toreturning to the arm to watch the grain grow and turn golden.Afer Kitty’s passing in 2000, Harold continued to winter inMesa and return to the amily arm until his 90th year.

    In 2014 he relocated to Sheridan, Wyoming to be closerto amily. Te Green House Cottages in Sheridan became hisnew residence. He was always grateul or his amily, the armlie, Arizona living and Te Green House.

    Harold was preceded in death by his wie, Kitty, his parentsOscar and Clara, brothers Byron and Vernon Sethne, and hissister, Garnet Dahmer. He is survived by his daughters, Karen(Art) Dehn and Janet (Larne) Gabriel; grandchildren, Dr. KatieDehn o Sheridan, Kari Dehn o Portland, Amy and BrynaeaGabriel o Washington, and Matt Gabriel o Caliornia; andtwo great granddaughters, Molly and Clara Kate Sheeley.  A service celebrating the lie o Harold will be held at theFirst Lutheran Church o Glasgow on April 2nd at 11:00AM. Burial will ollow at Highland Cemetery in Glasgow,M. Please make any donations to the Valley County PioneerMuseum.

      Seven Montana Fish, Wildlie& Parks game wardens graduatedFriday, March 25 rom the MontanaLaw Enorcement Academy inHelena.  Te wardens were part o a 58member class at the academy, whichtrains law enorcement officersrom a variety o agencies aroundMontana, stressing the importanceo teamwork, humility and character.  In Montana, FWP wardenshave peace officer status and areofen called to assist other agencieslike county sheriff departments,Montana Highway Patrol and ederallaw enorcement officers.

      “We ask our wardens to do alot in Montana and it’s crucial theyhave the very best training,” saidom Flowers, FWP Chie o LawEnorcement. “We’re proud o ourwardens and their accomplishmentsat the academy. Tis is a great step inpreparing them to serve the peopleo Montana.”  Te Montana Law EnorcementAcademy basic Law Enorcement

    Officer program is nearly three-

    months long, with three sessionseach year – winter, spring and all.Wardens typically attend either thewinter or spring session within thefirst year o their employment withthe department. Te training isollowed by 12 weeks o warden fieldtraining beore there are ready to beout on their own.  During the past year, FWP hashired 15 wardens and this academyclass has a higher than averagenumber o warden graduates. Tespring academy session will includefive wardens.  Graduating Friday were theollowing wardens:•

    will be stationed in Hardin.• im Fawell is rom Illinois, went
