The Board Decision…

After a long year of waiting for all the right pieces to fall into place so that Bayfront could take over the lease for our high school building on Bay Blvd—the goal line is in sight!

We will formally request authorization to sign the lease from the Chula Vista Elementary School District Governing Board at their next meeting, on April 13. There are five members of the Board, all elected by our community. In order to win approval for the lease, we will need 3 or more members to vote in our favor. The meeting is at 6:00 pm on Wednesday, the 13th.

Our Superintendent, Dr. Escobedo, remains strongly supportive of Bayfront taking over the lease to the building. It is a major commitment (15 years) but it is within our means to meet the lease costs.

Please plan on attending the meeting with your student so Bayfront can make a strong showing. It is always good for elected Board members to see and hear from those who are most affected by their decisions!

Spotlight on Bayfront Gear Seen Around the World!

ASB Advisor…Soccer Coach…English Teacher…Ms. Alexis does it all! And at our last pep rally she made sure everyone represented the Bayfront Sharks. The weather is getting warmer but we still have plenty of sweatshirts for sale!

If you or anyone you know is traveling, make sure they take a Bayfront Charter High School t-shirt, hoodie or beanie with them. We want pictures from the Great Wall, Burning Man, the Roman Coliseum, the Australian Outback or anywhere else in the world!

SHARKS CHEER TEAM: Our cheer team completed another great season of spirited participation at all home and away games. Thanks to Ms. Green for all of her dedication in building a strong team. On top of their outstanding performances, Coach Green also makes sure all of her student-athletes are excelling in class! UC SANTA BARBARA: Two weeks and counting until our second trip north for UC Santa Barbara and the Los Angeles College visits. In just two days and one night—our students will have the extraordinary opportunity to see UC Santa Barbara, the beautiful campus of Pepperdine (overlooking Malibu, the Pacific Ocean, and one of the west coast’s most breathtaking college softball fields!), LA Film School on Sunset Blvd. and Occidental College. These trips have been transformative for hundreds of our middle school students, are now inspiring our high school students as well. Kudos to Dr. Santos for his hard work in organizing this annual event. Much appreciation to our staff chaperones who will be with our 9th grade students throughout the entire trip. Support Sharks Boys Volleyball & Girls Softball! Game schedules change regularly—follow the latest on our website!
