Caring Hearts . . . Caring

for those who care for

others. Caring Hearts is off to

a great start. We have been

able to give several caregivers

a much needed break from their

24/7 job. This two-four hour

break gives the caregiver

an opportunity to get out to run

errands and get a breath of

fresh air and rejuvenate them-

selves. We have numerous

families still in need of our

help. Would you please

consider joining our wonderful

team. We are especially in

need of men to step up. Adding

more people to our team means

you would probably only be

called upon to help once a

month or possibly less. Please

contact Shirley Oesterle at

843-748-0465 if you are willing

to join the Caring Hearts team.

FRANKLIN GRAHAM DECISION AMERICA TOUR, COLUMBIA God

blessed us with a clear day for our trip to the rally. The day was cold, but not

freezing, as 34 of us went to stand with approximately 7,100 other Christians who

willingly stood boldly for Jesus Christ. Rev. Graham encouraged God's people to

pray, vote and live our faith as the nation's moral foundation is crumbling, and as our

culture tries to remove God from public view and silence His word. We must continue

to share the Good News and take a stand for religious freedom and God's truth. If

Christians across our nation don't stand up for His truth and righteousness we may

soon be forced to sit in silence.

.

0ur ladies are going Friday, March 11. As a part of the day’s events they are asked to bring dark blue/navy blazers in men, women and youth sizes to assist the Department of Juvenile Justice Blazers program. The ministry helps to teach practical skills to youth in the justice system. These skills include networking, public speaking, social etiquette, and more! It helps youth in the justice system to become a productive citizen in society upon their release. Call Pat Hamble at 843-748-0163 or 704-460-4056 for information and departure time.

Ladies Circle of Friends

By: Yvonne Marcum

The February Circle was fantastic! We had several great soups and

even more desserts. There were soups, I had never tried before and

loved them. Can't wait for the recipes to be put in our cookbook. We had

25 ladies in attendance and we met some new friends! Also, we kicked

off another round of Heart to Heart, where ladies are matched up

together and will meet for special times.

Our next Circle will be at 6:30 on Tuesday, March 15th in the Fellowship Hall of the church. We are focusing on healthy meals and desserts. Believe it or not those scrumptious desserts can be made healthier. I hope you can come out and join us for our March Circle of Friends. Sisters in Christ.

Pastorgraph . . .

In the Winter edition of Open Windows Diana Davis shared with us this beautiful article on the March theme of Easter.

It’s a spectacularly dramatic scene. There’s betrayal, bloody confrontation, and imminent death. There’s a kiss, a sword,

and a human ear on the ground. Sound like a scene from primetime TV? No, it’s a true event in Jesus’ last hours on earth.

The setting is an olive grove. Jesus is praying and pleading with His Father, God about His impending crucifixion. God’s

salvation plan would require Jesus’ death on the cross, and Jesus would willingly submit to God’s will.

The crucifixion story has begun. Disciples Peter, James, and John are there when a crowd of armed men arrives to arrest

Jesus. Peter impulsively grabs a sword and slices off one of the soldier’s ears!

Jesus’ response is classic: He reminds Peter that his power is limitless. He could easily ask God for legions of angels for

protection. He didn’t need Peter‘s brave ear slicing for defense.

When your life gets dramatic, do you start wielding your own defense weapons like Peter, wildly trying to take things into

your own hands? Or do you trust your Father God?

Father, thank you for Your comfort and presence in the difficult circumstances of my life.

Happy Easter!

MOVIE NIGHT “Catching Faith” Saturday, March 12. Dinner starts at 6 p.m. and the movie starts at 7 p.m. John

and Alexa Taylor are the envy of all the parents in town. Their son, Beau, is a high school football star and their

daughter, Ravyn, is a straight-A student. But when Beau is caught drinking, his place on the team is shaky---and a

judgmental community rejects them. Will they find strength in faith and family? Everyone is encouraged to attend.

Solid Ground Student Ministry By: Elizabeth Turner

We have had an exciting winter in student ministry. On February

19-20th we had our lock-in, lock-out weekend. The girls had a blast being

locked-in in the youth building and fellowshipping with one another. Not only

did they fellowship but they also served by baking cookies for all of the

Sunday School classes, office, and choir! We are very proud of them for how

hard they worked for over four hours in the kitchen. The boys were unable

to go camping for the lock-out, but instead they went on a boat outing and

hiking trip all day Saturday.

Here are three events that we will be a part of this month:

On March 12th, our students will be participating in church clean-up day. We

are of the belief that student ministry is not an island, so to speak, but that

our students should have a presence at church events and be an active part

of the church body, just as other members do.

On March 13th, we will be attending a Connection with Zealand Worship &

Josh Brewer at Ground Zero in Myrtle Beach. We attend Ground Zero’s

events very often as they are a ministry that seeks to reach teenagers for

Christ with events that are a healthy alternative to today’s culture.

On March 19th, several of our students will be helping out with the Block

Party our church will be having. I encourage you to be a part of this event as

it has a huge potential to let our surrounding community know that we, as a

church, care for them. There are many different areas that you can help with.

Contact Pastor Jordan Gandy to volunteer.

Please continue to be in prayer for the students that are a part of this

ministry. Our influence is limited to, at best, 2-3 hours of their week. Today’s

middle and high school students are exposed to much more, much earlier

than previous generations. It is important that we as a church encourage

them when they are with us, and pray for them as they go about their week.

Also, continue to be in prayer for the leadership as we will be making

decisions about plans for this summer, such as summer camp. We strive for

everything we do to accomplish a purpose; whether that purpose be

fellowship, discipleship, decisions for Christ, or all three. Thank you for your

continued support and have blessed March.
