Friday of this week is the First Friday of the month. Masses are 8:00 am and 12:05 pm. Confessions will be heard following Masses on Tuesday and Thursday and at 3:00 on Thursday a ernoon. Good News Charisma c Prayer Group will meet tomorrow, Monday, March 2nd at 1:30 pm in our St. JP II / Room # 1 with Fr. Bob Hilz, TOR. All are welcome to join us in thanking God for his many blessings. If you have any ques ons, please contact Joe or Connie at 266-7109.

The Oblates of St. Benedict will meet tomorrow Monday, March 2nd at 6:30 pm for evening prayer and mee ng in Church and our St. JP II / Room # 2. It is through prayer, study and fellowship, that the spirit of the Rule of St. Benedict, teaches us to “cherish Christ above all.” The organiza on is open to all.

Our Compassionate Friends group will be mee ng tomorrow, March 2nd at 7:00 pm in our St. JP II / Chapel. All are welcome.

Our Eucharistic Day will open with our 12:05 pm Mass on Tuesday, followed by private adoration in Church until 6:30 pm when the Blessed Sacrament will be reposed. The Pro - Life Holy Hour will be from 5:30 - 6:30 pm.

During the Lenten Season, we will be offering an evening Mass every Tuesday at 6:30 pm followed by Confessions. Sta ons of the Cross will be held every Friday at 2:00 pm and 6:30 pm beginning this Friday.

Our Men’s Group will hold its monthly mee ng this Saturday, March 7th at 7:00 am in Kiniry Hall. All men of the parish and your friends are cordially invited to come and share in prayer, medita on and conversa on. These sessions are most enlightening and refreshing.

Mark your calendar! The next Golden Bingo will be held this Saturday, March 7th from 1:00 - 3:00 pm in our St. JP II / Room # 2. Please come and join us for an a ernoon of fun and socializing!

2020 BIBLE STUDY SCHEDULE The weekly Bible Study will be held in the Music Room of the school. Sessions are from 9:30 - 11:30 am. Study will be cancelled on Snow Days. Handouts will be provided for study. The weekly schedule is as follows:

March 7th, 14th, April 4th, 18th, May 2nd, 9th and 23rd

The Contemporary Choir will rehearse on Wednesday at 6:30 pm and sing the 5:00 pm Mass Saturday, March 7th.

The Liturgical Choir will rehearse on Thursday at 6:30 pm and sing the 9:30 am Mass on Sunday, March 8th. + + + + + + + + Join us as we prepare for the Holy Week and the Easter Season! Come to the next Contemporary or Liturgical choir rehearsal … call ahead, or just pop in!

Our Resurrec on Choir is always in need of singers to minister to our parish family at funeral masses. We meet 30 minutes before each funeral to rehearse. Call the rectory office to be placed on the “call” list. Come whenever you are available!

Black and Indian Mission Collec on Today, our parish will take up the 137th Na onal Black and Indian Mission Collec on. A ached to today’s bulle n is an envelope for your contribu on. During the Lenten Season we will be having an evening Mass every Tuesday at 6:30 pm. Sta ons of the Cross will be every Friday at 2:00 pm and 6:30 pm.

Just a reminder that all Fridays during Lent are days of abs nence. FASTING refers to only one full meal, with two small meals and no ea ng otherwise for the day. ABSTINENCE refers to not ea ng meat at all throughout the day. All those who have reached their 14th year are obliged to ABSTAIN. The Church directs the holy FAST to all those in their 18th year un l their 60th year. (Canon 1252).

We are looking for volunteers for our Fish Fry Dinners. Please call Valerie Orris at 266-4730 or 341 - 6616 if you are able to help out. Our next dinner is this Friday, March 6th. We are asking all our wonderful haluski makers to please report to the kitchen every Thursday at 3:30 pm, to help prepare for our Friday Fish Fries. If you have never made haluski, but would like to be part of our team, stop in, we would love to have you! Please contact Michelle at 659-1234 if you are able to lend a hand. Thank you!!!

SERVICE OPPORTUNITY… FISH FRIES: Student helpers are a very important part of this endeavor! In the past we have had the best helpers come from the student popula on. Working the Fish Fry sa sfies the Group Service Project obliga on for Confirma on as well as providing Service hours for the Catholic School. Please contact Sr. Cindy by THURSDAY of each week to volunteer.

Lenten Reunion Tree Once again this year we will have a “Children’s Lenten Reunion Tree” in the back of the church. As the price of prizes for the St. Benedict Reunion con nue to increase, we are asking for Lenten dona ons of gi cards and cash. In the spirit of “almsgiving,” please consider taking a cross from the tree, purchase the appropriate gi card and return it to the Parish Office or drop it in the collec on basket. Please be certain that the cross is a ached to the gi card. Gi cards range in amounts of $5.00 to $25.00 and are from stores where children’s prizes can be purchased for the prize redemp on booth. As an added bonus, you can purchase gi cards through our scrip program for parish credit. Please help give the children awesome quality prizes. Thanking you in advance for considering this program!

ADULT ED: Sr. Cindy’s Adult Educa on will meet on Thursday March 5th at 10:00 am. All are welcome! Class meets in Room #2 of the St. John Paul II Building.

CONFIRMATION FRESHMEN: The 2nd opportunity for the Freshman Bap sm Retreat will be held on Saturday, March 21st from 2:00 - 4:30 pm in the school gym. This retreat is for 9th graders from Bishop McCort, High School CCD or Home schooled. At least one parent should a end with the student.

CONFIRMATION SOPHOMORES: The 1st opportunity for the Sophomore Gi s of the Holy Spirit Retreat will be held on Saturday, March 7th from 2:00 - 4:30 pm in the school gym. The 2nd chance to a end is on Saturday, April 4th from 2:00 - 4:30 pm. This retreat is for 10th graders from Bishop McCort, High School CCD or Home schooled. At least one parent should a end with the student. If neither date works, please contact Sr. Cindy as soon as possible.

CONFIRMATION JUNIORS: All Juniors must schedule a mee ng with the pastor before Confirma on. Please schedule your mee ng sooner than later! To do so, contact Sr. Cindy.

SAFE ENVIRONMENT TRAINING: All employees and volunteers working with children or who possibly might deal with children must complete training required by the diocese and the state. These trainings must be redone every 5 years. For those who need to renew their Virtus training as well as the Mandated Reporter training, we will be holding a session in the school gym on Saturday, March 21st, from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm. If you are unable to a end this session, contact Sr. Cindy for other op ons. If you are not sure if this applies to you, contact Sr. Cindy at 266-9718, Ext. 301.
