MARATHON- the best solution in the long run

When we hear the word Marathon, mostof us think about the 26 mile run first madeby the messenger Feidippides 490 B.C fromMarathon to Athens. Today this is the toughestand most demanding race in the world. In thesame spirit we named our industrial hydraulicmotor. The Marathon motor is a low speed - high torquemotor. This means that it can be mounted directlyon the shaft of the driven machine without the needof a gearbox, running at any speed in it´s range,even stalling without time restrictions.

The mechanical efficiency of the Marathonis 97 % which enables full torque from standstill.The moment of inertia is about 1 % of an electro-

mechanical unit and Marathon can drive and brakein both directions as standard. This makes it moreor less insensitive to heavy duty applications withshock loads. The speed and direction of rotationare easily controlled by varying the flow from thefast responding pump unit.
