Use pages 175, 206, 207-208, 1070-1071,1078-79 and 1086-1087 of your textbook to complete each part of the map. Make a key for capitals, how land was gained, and write neatly! 20 points

1. Shade (do not label) in any areas that were states by 1830.2. Label all cities that were U.S. national capitals for some period

of time. (Signify the permanent capital with a different symbol.)

3. Point out how the United States acquired these various states and territories in the U.S. by 1850. (ex: LA Purchase, Treaties ect.)

4. Finally determine what the physical boundaries were for the three regions in existence in 1830 (Northeast, South and West)

5. On the back of the map, explain at least five various priorities for those regions or sections of the country by 1850.
