DELLIYA_____________________ Rationale – Place #1 Port Klang – is the largest port in Malaysia. It has the highest number of trading activities and large amount of cargos and shipping containers that can illustrate the metallic feel at the port. Concept Human civilisations have been proved to be taking place at mighty rivers. Rivers are an ancient, dazzling relic plays role in enduring human civilisations until now and beyond had made human to start agriculture and then system barter. As the civilisations from different edges of the world met, human invented trading. Trading happened at ports is unarguably a significant activity in the human history. Hence, a port will always act as a platform for human to invest businesses and as a potpourri for human to blend diverse ideas and cultures. A port, which is vital for cities to dominate the local economy, will be the concept of my postcard series. Theme 1. Architecture of a port 2. Spaces of the port 3. Mapping

Rationale – Place #2 Port Kuantan – is moderate size of port in Malaysia, which plays an important role in East Coast. It is located about an hour away from the Kuantan city. Although it is less busy than Klang Port, it still owns its style to bring out a hectic sense whilst facing the South China Sea.

Mapping

Rationale – Place #3 Port Dickson – was built during the era of British colonisation and although it is still used as a trading port, it acts more as a vacation destination that is very popular for local and overseas tourists. At this port, we could see a lot of yachts or sailboats as the leisure equipment at the beach and many other human activities in the breathtaking view.

Rationale – Place #4 Port Tanjung Langsat, Pasir Gudang – is another large-scale port in Johor, Malaysia that usually imports, exports and entrepots goods to and fro Singapore and Indonesia.

Mapping

Rationale – Place #5 Port Malacca – is a cruise port that the trading activities take place at the Straits of Malacca. It is located at the Malacca city centre where is near to the Jonker Street and Stadhuys. Many locals n tourists will pay a visit because of its beautiful scene with a mixture of modern and old architecture along the port.
