In this newsletter you will find information regarding our annual June Concert and Nutcracker Highlights. Please remember that all students (including creative and pre-ballet) should wear coverups and street shoes when coming to, and leaving from the studio. Students should also never wear their ballet shoes outside. Shoes that have been worn outside can damage the flooring in the studio. Finally, parents, if you use fabric softener, please do not use it on dance clothing. The residue this leaves on leotards and tights comes off on the dance floor and makes it very slick and dangerous. Thank you for your cooperation in this! Maple Valley School of Ballet is proud to present its 35th Annual Concert

Opus Friday and Saturday, June 23rd and 24th at 7pm

‘Opus’ will explore the Greatest Hits of Classical Music.

For students to participate in the concert, they must attend all of their scheduled theater rehearsals.  Exceptions will only be made in the case of illness or family emergency.  Students who miss these rehearsals will be removed from the concert. The scheduling specifics will be

available later in the school year.

June 20 Technical Rehearsal, Pre Ballet, Level 1-5 June 21 Technical Rehearsal, modern classes, Level 5

June 22 Dress Rehearsal, all classes June 23, 24 Show

Students in Creative and Pre Ballet A classes will participate in one of the two programs. Consideration for which concert a student will perform in will be made first for families who have two children in these classes.

Students in Pre Ballet B, Levels 1-5 and Modern classes will participate in both concerts. Students in these classes who feel that they will only be able to perform in one of the two programs should not participate in the concert.

Students who intend to participate in activities that make it difficult to attend classes between March and June should consult their teacher to find out if they should still participate in the concert.

MVSB relies greatly on the work of parents in order to create a beautiful and positive experience for every dancer. Every family is asked to assist in some way with the production. Some of the roles that parents take on are backstage helpers, box office, and venue security. More information regarding parent roles will be available further into the school year.
