IngredientsCake • Butter½cup(250mL) • Brownsugar¼cup(50mL) • Ontarioeggs2 • Flour,all-purpose2cups(500mL) • Bakingpowder3tsp(15mL) • Salt½tsp(2mL) • Cinnamon¼tsp(1mL) • OntarioMapleSyrup¾cup(175mL) • Milk¼cup(50mL)
Directions 1. Creamthebutterandbrownsugar.Addtheeggs,oneatatime andbeatwell.Addmaplesyrupandmilk,andbeatwell.
2. Inaseparatebowl,combinetheflour,bakingpowder, saltandcinnamon.
3. Slowlyaddthedryingredientstothecreamedmixture. Beatwellaftereachaddition.
4. Pourbatterintogreasedandfloured9-inch(23cm)squarepan.
5. Bakeat350°F(180°C)for35minutes,oruntiltoothpickinsertedin centreofcakecomesoutclean.Letcakecool.
6. Tomakeicing,combinemaplesyrupandbutterinsmallsaucepan overmediumheattomeltbutter.
7. Beatinicingsugarandginger.
8. Coolcompletely,stirringoccasionally,untilicingisthick andspreadable.Spreadovercooledcake.
