Our bearings can be fitted with bronzeriveted cages for strength. The races aremachined from top grade materials withspecial internal geometry for reliabilityand strength.

Bearings for vibratory screens (includingNiagra screens) can frequently beobtained from stock or on very shortlead times.

The company has a long history ofsupplying bearings to the offshore, marineand oil industries. Bearings are speciallymanufactured to work in this difficult anddemanding environment. This includesworking in L. P. G.; sour gas, powergenerating equipment and in down holeconditions.

Special bearings and standard designs canbe made in special materials such ascorrosion resistant 440 ST ST. for itemssuch as transmissions, winches andpumps. Difficult to source or obsoletereplacement bearings can often be madeon short lead times.

Development and prototype work is also amain area in which we specialise.

HB Bearings supply many different typesof bearing to the Textile Industry many ofwhich are obsolete lines. We can supplythe full range of LTW; LSW; MTW andMSW type bearings, many being fromstock and most others on short lead times.

We have also supplied bearings for therefurbishment of spinning spindles andthe carpet yarn production industry.Often we can supply inch size bearingswhich are now difficult to obtain manytimes from stock. HB has an extensivearchive of special references, also prefixes andsuffixes for bearings with special features.

HB Bearings manufacture a number ofbearings for machine tool applications.These can be roller bearings, ball bearingsor angular contact ball bearings and arenormally of a higher precision.

One of the most popular ranges is for therebuilding or upgrading of multi-spindleturning machines. We also manufactureinch and metric special or obsoletebearings for older machines.

We also specialise in setting up preloads insets of angular contact bearings for use inprecision spindle assemblies and theaddition of special lubrication features.

Taper roller bearing sets can also be setup with any required B.E.P.

Or, only the cages can be supplied with nobearing races. Non standard size rollers aremanufactured, both imperial and metric,fitted to cages or supplied loose.

ModificationsConversions of existing bearings with theaddition of special features, for examplealteration to clearance, adding U, V or circlipgrooves; can make an existing bearing suitablefor an application, thus saving on cost of aspecial bearing being manufactured.

High quality inspection, measurement and traceability

Two fully air conditioned inspectionrooms contain some of the mostup-to-date measuring equipmentavailable.

The Mitutoyo Strato CNC co-ordinate measuring machine has aworking capacity of up to 750mmdiameter. This is a high precisionCNC system with an accuracy of1.2 µm and a resolution of 0.1µm.

Amongst other inspection equipment

are the Mitutoyo CV-500contour tracing machine andthe Mitutoyo CS-2000 Surftestsurface testing machine androughness tester.

When manufacturing a precisionbearing, full traceability isensured due to our orderprocessing system. Certificatesof Conformity and similardocumentation are availableupon request.
