    diRECTX 9.0 C

    This game requires that you have DirectX 9.0c installed on your PC. During the installationo Sa ecracker you will be prompted to install DirectX 9.0c i it is not already installed onyour PC.

    iNSTALLATioN iNSTRUCTioNS

    It is strongly recommended that you close all non-essential programs be ore beginning theinstallation o any so tware on your computer. This includes anti-virus and anti-spyware

    so tware which may inter ere with the installation process. To install Sa ecracker, ollow thesesteps:

    1. Insert the Sa ecracker CD into your drive.

    2. I the autorun mode on your computer is active, the installation will start automaticallywhen you insert the CD into the drive.

    3. Follow the on-screen instructions.

    I the auto-run mode on your computer is disabled, ollow these steps:a) From your Windows desktop, click on Start.

    b) Select Run and type the letter o your drive and Setup.exe. (i.e. D:\Setup.exe).

    OR

    a) Double-click on My Computer.

    b) Right-click on the drive with the Sa ecracker CD and select Open to access the contentso the CD.

    c) Double-click on the Setup.exe fle to launch the installation.

    Read and click-to-accept the End User License Agreement, then ollow the on-screeninstructions.

    The installation will automatically create a program icon group and a quick start on your

    Windows Start menu.To launch the game, rom the Windows desktop, select:

    Start -> Programs -> The Adventure Company -> Safecracker -> Safecracker

    UNiNSTALL iNSTRUCTioNS

    To uninstall Sa ecracker, ollow these steps:

    Option 1: From the Windows desktop, select:

    Start -> Programs -> The Adventure Company -> Safecracker -> Uninstall Safecracker

    Option 2:

    1. Insert the Sa ecracker CD into your drive.

    2. I the auto-run mode on your computer is active, the Program Menu will automaticallyappear.

    3. Click Un-Install Game. The game will automatically being the uninstall procedure.

    4. Follow the on-screen instructions.

    Option 3:

    From the Windows desktop, select:

    Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> Add or Remove Programs -> Safecracker -> Remove

    MAiN MENU

    When you frst launch the game, the frst screen you will see is the Main Menu.

    New Game : Start a new gameLoad Game : Load a previously saved game

    Options : Customize various in-game settings such as subtitles, cursor speed, and soundvolume

    Credits : View the list o the people who worked on this game

    Exit Game : Quit out o the game

    You may access the Main Menu at anytime during the game. Click on the right mouse buttonto access the Inventory Menu and then select the door icon in the bottom right corner o thescreen. This will take you to the In-Game Menu. Select Exit Game and you will arrive at theMain Menu.

    NEW gAME

    When you start a new game you will be prompted to select one o fve di erent symbols.Each symbol represents a di erent player slot; there ore up to 5 players can play the game intheir own unique way and save their own individual saved games.

    opTioNS MENU

    The Options Menu allows you to adjust thevarious settings in the game. You may accessthe Options Menu rom either the MainMenu or In-game Menu at anytime duringthe game by clicking on the right mousebutton to access the Inventory Menu and

    then select the door icon in the bottomright corner o the screen. Select theOptions button.

    Subtitles: Select Yes to turn subtitles on or No to turn them oSpeed: Adjust the cursor rotation speed which controls the in-game camera

    Volume: Adjust the volume o the in-game sounds and music

    iN-gAME MENU

    You may access the In-game Menu at anytime during the game. Click on the right mousebutton to access the Inventory Menu and then select the door icon in the bottom rightcorner o the screen.Save Game : Save your game at anytime during gameplay

    Load Game : Load a previously saved game

    SAviNg yoUR gAME

    The Save Game option is available rom theIn-game Menu. Click on the right mousebutton to access the Inventory Menu andthen select the door icon in the bottomright corner o the screen. Click on the Save

    Game button to save your game. You will beasked to confrm and will then be taken backto the In-game Menu. To continue playingthe game rom where you just le t o , selectthe Resume Game option.

    Make sure you select the symbol that corresponds to your individual player slot.

    I you choose not to save a game, click on the X icon in the bottom right corner o thescreen.

    Note: As Safecracker is a challenging game, we recommend that you save your gamefrequently.

    LoAdiNg A SAvEd gAME

    The Load Game option is available rom the In-game Menu. Click on the right mouse buttonto access the Inventory Menu and then select the door icon in the bottom right corner o thescreen. Click on the Load Game button to access the saved games. Select which game youwish to load indicated by an image o that game location. You will be asked to confrm yourselection. The saved game you selected will load.

    Make sure you select the symbol that corresponds to your individual player slot in order tocall up the saved games unique to your game.

    I you choose not to load a game, click on the X icon in the bottom right corner o thescreen.

    In-game Map: The in-game map icon represented by a map is located in the bottom le t

    corner o the Inventory Menu screen

    In-game Menu: The in-game menu icon represented by a door is located in the bottom rightcorner o the Inventory Menu screen

    Inventory Slots: These are represented by ten slots located along the bottom o the InventoryMenu between the In-game Map and In-game Menu icons. This is where the items you collectthroughout your adventure will be stored. There are more than 10 inventory slots availableto you, there ore a scroll bar has been added allowing you to browse through the variousitems at your leisure. To use an item in inventory, select the item by clicking on the le t mousebutton and exit out o the Inventory Menu by clicking on the right mouse button. Once youselect the area where you would like to use the item, click on the le t mouse button to usethe item. To view a document close-up simply click on the object while in inventory.

    IN-GAME MAP

    To access the In-game Map, click on the right mouse button at anytime during the game.The In-game Map is represented by a map icon located in the bottom le t corner o theInventory Menu screen. Use the right and le t arrows to scroll through the di erent areas othe mansion including the lobby, main oor, attic, and basement.

    EXiTiNg ThE gAME

    You may exit the game at anytime during gameplay. To do so, click on the right mousebutton to access the Inventory Menu, then click on the door icon to access the In-gameMenu. Select Quit to Main Menu and then click on Exit Game. This will take you back tothe Windows desktop.

    fiRST fivE MiNUTES of gAMEpLAy

    Your exhilarating sa ecracking mission is about to begin! Armed with your sa ecracking tools,wits, puzzle solving skills, and expertise, enter the magnifcent mansion o the late billionaireDuncan W. Adams

    When you enter the mansion, continue straight orward. Your frst challenge awaits. To theright o the doorway is a security key pad. What is the code? Explore the accessible areas othe mansion. You will fnd the frst o many unique sa es. This one has a series o red, green,and blue colored beads. What you have heard about Duncan W. Adams is right a ter all Hewas eccentric! This sa e is unlike any other you have ever seen!

    To crack the sa e you need to determine the right placement or each o the colored beads.Click on the arrows associated with each color to move the beads around the circular tracks.Once you crack this sa e you will fnd a clue that will help you unlock the security key pad.

    This So tware License Agreement (Agreement) is a legally binding agreement between DreamCatcher Interactive Inc.(DreamCatcher) and you. Please read the Agreement care ully be ore using the so tware. I you have any questions aboutit, we encourage you to seek independent legal advice.     7. DreamCatcher Media Warranty. DreamCatcher warrants that or one year rom date o original purchase, thecompact disc used to distribute the Application So tware shall be ree o all manu acturing de ects. Additionally, or the

    same one year period, DreamCatcher will replace, ree o charge, any compact disc that may be damaged in any way. Youmust return the de ective or damaged compact disc along with proo o purchase and signed warranty card. A postage andhandling charge o US$8.00 must accompany the order. (Please note: Add US$2.00 or each additional disc.)

    8. Disclaimer o Warranty on Application So tware. The Application So tware and related documentation are provided ASIS and without warranty o any kind, and DreamCatcher expressly disclaims all warranties, expressed or implied, includingbut not limited to, the implied warranties o non-in ringement, merchantability and ftness or a particular purpose.DreamCatcher does not warrant that the unctions contained in the Application So tware will meet your requirements,nor that the operation o the Application So tware will be uninterrupted or error- ree, or that de ects in the ApplicationSo tware will be corrected. In no event shallDreamCatchers total maximum liability to you or all damages, losses, and causes o action (whether in contract, tort orotherwise) exceed the total amount paid by you or the Application So tware. Any allowable claim must be brought againstDreamCatcher no later than sixty (60) days a ter the date o the event giving rise to such claim.

    10. Indemnity. You agree to indemni y and hold harmless DreamCatcher, its shareholders, subsidiaries, o fcers, directors andemployees in respect o any claims, demands, causes o action, liability, damages, costs, fnes, expenses (including legal ees)that result directly or indirectly rom your use or misuse o the Application So tware or any violation o this Agreement.

    11. Governing Law, Language and Severability. This License shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the lawso the province o Ontario and any disputes arising rom this Agreement shall be adjudicated in the courts o the province oOntario. The original version o this Agreement is in English, and any interpretation will be based on the English text. In thecase o any discrepancy between a translated version and the English text, the English version will prevail. I or any reason acourt o competent jurisdiction fnds any provision o this Agreement or portion thereo to be unen orceable, that provisionshall be en orced to the maximum extent permissible so as to a ect the intent o the parties, and the remainder o thisAgreement shall continue in ull orce and e ect.

    12. Complete Agreement.
