After answering assignments/exam questions check for completion/relevance 4. Only ask for a grade change if a clear error is present. If you are unhappy with a grade, ask to discuss strategies to improve next time, do not beg for points. 5. Back up your work, computer problems are not an excuse 6. Demonstrate originality in your work 7. Hand in work on time 8. If work is sent as an attachment, it is your responsibility to make sure the files work. Corrupted, missing, incomplete files will be treated as late work.

4. Give your professor 2 days to respond before sending a follow up

5. Use email for simple questions that cannot be answered via the syllabus, a friend in class, or an assignment. If it is a long question, come to office hours or make an appointment.

6. Use your SHU account

7. Do not ask others to e-mail on your behalf.

Letters of Recommendation1. Ask faculty for a letter one month in advance. 2. Follow up one week before the deadline

3. Waive your right to view the letter and provide stamped, addressed envelopes.

4. Provide faculty with information about the date/grade from courses as well as a copy of a rsum and any other relevant information.
