    Check your product box for the following items. If there are any missing accessories, contact the local

    dealer where you purchased your product. The illustrations in this manual may differ from the actual

    y Some models appear to have a thin film on the screen. It is actually part of the screen, do not

    remove it.

    y All of the buttons are touch sensitive and can be operated through simple touch with your finger.

    y When transporting the TV, do not expose the

    TV to jolts or excessive vibration.

    y When transporting the TV, keep the TV

    upright, never turn the TV on its side, or tilt

    towards the left or right.

    Lifting and Moving the TV

    When moving or lifting the TV, read the following

    to prevent the TV from being scratched or

    damaged and for safe transportation regardless of

    its type and size.

    Avoid touching the screen at all times, as

    this may result in damage to the screen or

    some of the pixels used to create images.

    CAUTION

    y It is recommended to move the TV in the

    box or packing material that the TV originally

    came in.

    y Before moving or lifting the TV, disconnectthe power cord and all cables.

    y When holding the TV, the screen should face

    away from you to prevent the screen from

    scratches.

    y Hold the top and bottom of the TV frame

    firmly. Make sure not to hold the transparent

    part, speaker, or speaker grill area.

    y Do not place the TV near or on sources ofheat, as this may result in fire or other damage.

    yPlease be sure to connect the TV to the

    AC/DC power adapter before connecting the

    TVs power plug to a wall power outlet.

    Adjusting the angle of the TV to suit view

    y Image shown may differ from your TV.

    Tilt from +20 to -5 degrees up or down to adjust

    the angle of the TV to suit your view.

    Mounting on a Wall

    For proper ventilation, allow a clearance of 10 cm

    on each side and from the wall. Detailed wall

    mounting instructions will be included with the

    optional wall mount you purchase.

    If you intend to mount the TV to a wall, attach Wall

    mounting interface (optional parts) to the back of

    the TV.

    When you install the TV using the wall mounting

    interface (optional parts), attach it carefully so it

    will not fall.

    1 Use a wall mount interface in accordance withVESA Standards.

    2 If you use screws longer than standard, the TVmight be damaged internally.

    3 If you use improper screws, the product mightbe damaged and drop from mounted position.

    In this case, LG Electronics is not responsible

    for damage.

    4 VESA compatible only with respect to screwmounting interface dimensions and mounting

    screw specifications.

    y Disconnect the power first, and then move

    or install the TV. Otherwise electric shock

    may occur.

    y If you install the TV on a ceiling or slantedwall, it may fall and result in severe injury.

    Use an authorized LG wall mount and

    contact the local dealer or qualified

    personnel.

    y Do not over tighten the screws as this may

    cause damage to the TV and void your

    warranty.

    y Use the screws and wall mounts that

    meet the VESA standard. Any damages

    or injuries by misuse or using an improper

    accessory are not covered by the warranty.

    13MAKING CONNECTIONS

    Connect various external devices to the TV and switch input modes to select an external device. For more

    information about an external devices connection, refer to the manual supplied with each device.

    Available external devices are: HD receivers, DVD players, VCRs, audio systems, USB storage devices, PC,

    camcorders or cameras, gaming devices, and other external devices.

    y If you record a TV program on a DVD recorder or VCR, make sure to connect the TV signal input

    cable to the TV through a DVD recorder or VCR. For more information about recording, refer to the

    manual supplied with the connected device.

    y The external device connection may differ from the drawing.

    y Connect external devices to the TV regardless of the order of the TV port.

    y If you connect a gaming device to the TV, use the cable supplied with the gaming device.

    yRefer to the external equipments manual for operating instructions.

    MAKING CONNECTIONS

    Connecting an Antenna

    Connect an antenna, cable, or cable box to watch TV referring to the following. The illustrations may differ

    from the actual accessories and an RF cable is not supplied.

    Connect the TV to a wall antenna socket with an RF cable (75 ).

    y Make sure not to bend the copper wire of

    the RF cable.

    y Complete all connections instructions

    between devices, and then connect the

    power cord to the power outlet to prevent

    damages to your TV.

    Other Connections

    Connect your TV to external devices. For the best picture and audio quality, connect the external

    device and the TV with the HDMI cable as shown. Depending upon the model, a cable may be provided.

    1 The USB port provides 0.5A electric current. . If you need more electric current in the case of an HDD,

    use a separate power adaptor.

    REMOTE CONTROL

    The descriptions in this manual are based on the buttons on the remote control.

    Please read this manual carefully and use the TV correctly.

    To install batteries, open the battery cover, replace batteries (1.5 V AAA) matchingthe and ends to the label inside the compartment, and close the battery cover.

    To remove the batteries, perform the installation actions in reverse.

    y Do not mix old and new batteries, as this may damage the remote control.

    CAUTION

    Make sure to point the remote control to the remote control sensor on the TV.

    (POWER) Turns the TV on or off.TV/PC Selects TV or PC mode.CAPTION Activates or deactivates the subtitles.AV MODE Selects an AV mode.RATIO Resizes an image.

    INPUT Selects the input mode.

    To set up the channels automatically

    Memorizes automatically the channels being broadcast.

    y The channels will not be memorized properly

    if the antenna/cable is not installed correctly.

    y Auto Tuningmemorizes the channels that are

    currently being broadcast.

    y If Lock Systemis turned on, a pop-up window

    will appear asking for password.

    To use Energy Saving feature

    settings on the TV to reduce power

    consumption.

    y CinemaOptimizes the video image for a

    cinematic look to enjoy movies as if you are in

    a movie theater.

    y Game Optimizes the video image for fast

    moving video such as PCs or games.

    y Photo Displays the optimum picture for photo

    (still image).

    yExpert 1, 2 Adjusts the detailed video imagesettings for video experts as well as general

    viewers.

    y Pressing any button of the remote control will

    turn on the screen again.

    image appear in more natural colors.

    y Skin ColorSkin color spectrum can be

    separately set to implement the skin color as

    defined by the user.

    y Grass ColorNatural color spectrum (meadows,hills, etc.) can be separately set.

    y Sky ColorSky color is set separately.

    y GammaSets the gradation curve according to

    the output of picture signal in relation to the

    input signal.

    y Color GamutSelects the range of colors that

    can be expressed.

    y Edge EnhancerShows clearer and distinctive

    yet natural edges of the video.

    y Color FilterFilters a specific color spectrum in

    RGB colors to fine-tune color saturation andhue accurately.

    y Color TemperatureAdjusts the overall tone

    of the screen as desired. In Expert mode,

    detailed fine-tuning can be set via Gamma

    method, etc.

    y Color Management SystemThis system is

    used by experts to adjust color with a test

    pattern. They can select from six color areas

    (Red/ Green/Blue/ Cyan/Magenta/Yellow)

    without affecting other colors. For normal

    images, adjustments may not result in

    noticeable color changes.

    y Depending upon input signal or other picture

    settings, the range of detailed items for

    adjustment may differ.

    CC 1-4(Closed Captioning) / Text 1-4Displays

    the audio portion of a TV program as text

    on the TV screen. CC1 is the most common

    mode in use. Field 1 data channels: two

    Captions (CC1, CC2), two Text (T1, T2). Field 2

    data channels: two Captions (CC3, CC4), two

    Text (T3, T4).

    Service 1-6This is only available for the digitalbroadcasting system.

    y Digital OptionSet up the size and color of

    the captions on Digital Option. Please select

    To return to initial settings

    Cleaning your TV

    Clean your TV regularly to keep it at peak performance and to extend the product lifespan.

    CAUTION

    y Before cleaning, turn the power off and disconnect the power cord and all other cables.

    y When the TV is left unattended and unused for a long time, disconnect the power cord from the wall

    outlet to prevent possible damage from lightning or power surges.

    Screen, Frame, Cabinet, and Stand

    To remove dust or light dirt, wipe the surface with a dry, clean, and soft cloth.To remove major dirt, wipe the surface with a soft cloth dampened in clean water or a diluted mild detergent.

    Then wipe immediately with a dry cloth.

    CAUTION

    y Do not push, rub, or hit the surface with your fingernail or a sharp object, as this may result in

    scratches on the screen and image distortions.

    y Do not use any chemicals, such as waxes, benzene, alcohol, thinners, insecticides, air fresheners, or

    lubricants, as these may damage the screens finish and cause discoloration.

    y Do not spray liquid onto the surface. If water enters the TV, it may result in fire, electric shock, or

    malfunction.

    Power cord

    Remove the accumulated dust or dirt on the power cord regularly.

    y If a fixed image displays on the TV screen for a long period of time, it will be imprinted and become

    a permanent disfigurement on the screen. This is image burn or burn-in and not covered by the

    warranty.

    y If the aspect ratio of the TV is set to 4:3 for a long period of time, image burn may occur on theletterboxed area of the screen.

    y Avoid displaying a fixed image on the TV screen for a long period of time (2 or more hours for LCD)

    to prevent image burn.

    Problem Solution

    Cannot control the TV with theremote control.

    y Check the remote control sensor on the product and try again.y Check if there is any obstacle between the product and the remotecontrol.

    y Check if the batteries are still working and properly installed ( to ,to ).

    No image display and no soundis produced.

    y Check if the product is turned on.y Check if the power cord is connected to a wall outlet.y Check if there is a problem in the wall outlet by connecting otherproducts.

    Image appears slowly when the

    TV turns on.

    y The image is muted during the product startup process. This is

    normal. If the image does not appear in a few minutes, unplug theTV for 30 seconds and try again. If the image still does not appear,contact the authorized service center in your local area.

    Cannot connect externaldevices.

    y Refer to the Connection Overviewand connect an external device.

    The TV turns off suddenly. y Check the power control settings. The power supply may beinterrupted.

    y Check if the Sleep Timeror Off Timefeature is activated in the TIMEsettings.

    y If there is no signal while the TV is on, the TV will turn off automaticallyafter 15 minutes of inactivity.

    Vertical and horizontal lines

    with net patterns appear on thescreen momentarily that areshaking.

    y Refrain from using electronic devices, such as cordless telephones,

    hair dryers, or electrical drills near the product. The problem is a resultof high-frequencies and strong electro-magnetic fields caused bythese devices.

    y The product may power off if you continue to use it near thesedevices.
