The manufacturing industry is coming back stronger than ever with opportunities for those with the skills we teach. INVESTING IN YOU The manufacturing sector invests heavily in its people, in new product development, and emerging technologies. Your education will not end with graduation. Many experienced technicians and technologists advance to corporate and leadership roles. APPRENTICESHIP TRAINING We offer the in-school component for manufacturing skilled trades programs: General Machinist, Industrial Maintenance Mechanic/Millwright, Mould Maker and Tool and Die Maker. While on the job, you will be supervised by a qualified tradesperson. In class, you will study theory and learn to apply your skills to practical assignments. ENGINEER THE NEXT BIG THING Think about it. The manufacturing sector produces all the goods we depend on in a modern society – computers, clothes, trains, planes, automobiles, even the page you’re reading right now!

PracTIcal eleMenTs of MechanIcal enGIneerInG– this one-year Ontario College Graduate Certificate program gives students who have successfully completed their second or third year of a CEAB approved program in Mechanical Engineering, intensive, hands-on training in the practical elements associated with their profession. Students will learn computer assisted design (CAD), blueprint reading, machining and welding. This program will complement the theoretical skills that engineers obtain in their formal studies.

elecTroMechanIcal enGIneerInG TechnIcIan (acceleraTed)– a two-year Ontario College Diploma program offered in 1.5 academic years is a multidisciplinary program that exposes students to aspects of electromechanical systems. Students will gain knowledge of the mechanical aspects of a system, such as the ability to read mechanical prints, understand tolerances and the mechanical nuances of a system. Students will be exposed to both electrical and mechanical principles, allowing graduates to be capable of analyzing, modifying, maintaining and repairing electromechanical systems. The focus of the program shall be concurrent engineering with respect to products and processes. Students will also be exposed to project management and quality systems.

ManufacTurInG enGIneerInG TechnIcIan (acceleraTed)– a two-year Ontario College Diploma offered in 1.5 academic years and a one-year co-op that focuses on tool design, computer numerical control (CNC), computer assisted design and manufacturing (CAD/CAM), metallurgy, metrology and statistical process control methods. Graduates work as technical analysts, project engineering technicians, computer aided or solidworks designers or CNC machine programmers and in research and development, sales, production equipment inspection and maintenance.

ManufacTurInG enGIneerInG TechnoloGy (acceleraTed)– a three-year Ontario College Advanced Diploma program offered in two academic years and a one-year co-op. You’ll learn to work from product design drawings, to develop and implement a production process and apply manufacturing and quality control standards. In addition to technical skills, you’ll learn business skills such as accounting, production cost estimating, statistical analysis, operations and resource management, customer service and project management skills. Graduates work as manufacturing engineering technologists, operations managers, plant supervisors, tool designers and quality engineers.
