    TOOL USED IN THE LEARNING

    MOST: Maynard Operation Sequence Technique

    In this technique, a pre-determined motion study is done,

    that sets a standard time for workers.

    Basically, a task is broken into individual motion

    elements and each is assigned a numerical units.

    No. of trucks to be produced in a day = 100

    Work time = 8 Hrs, i.e. 480 mins.

    Total Time = 480/100 = 4.8 min,

    This 4.8 min. means in every 4.8 mins end of the previous

    work and starting the new work, in simple words, it means

    every operator has to work for 4.8 mins. maximum on the

    same stage after this, his work will restart from the same

    stage for the same time and vehicle will be passing fromhis stage to the another, as his output will be now input for

    the next stage.

    FINDINGS

    Variations exists between the actual and supplied

    manpower.

    IEDs calculations were not wrong, reasons were theworkplace behavior of workforce.

    Absenteeism.

    MOST is acceptable.

    Supervisors suggested for increasing the time period

    of stay of the casuals in the Plant.

    SUGGESTIONS

    Superior-Subordinate relation should be manageable.

    Requisition for requirement of manpower should be given

    on time.

    Casuals should be informed that if they come on regular

    basis, they are provided with monetary benefits. Need of proper communication channel between HRD and

    the other departments.

    Need of Orientation programme for the workforce.

    Classes of NTTF Associates on the working day should beminimized.

    MOST is required to revise.
