History and facilities Manor Park Country Park was once part of an 18th century estate and is still overlooked by Douce’s Manor House. With its mixture of woodland copses, an attractive lake and grassy meadow, this park is teeming with wildlife. Swans, coots, mallards and moorhens regularly raise their young here. Douce’s Meadow is laid out much as the original parkland would have been with wide open views across to the Manor House and the parish church. It is a great place to relax, play games or have a picnic. In summer the Abbey Field and Chestnut Paddock come alive with wild flowers. The meadows are managed by hay cutting and occasional grazing for the benefit of wild flowers. The Green Café serves an excellent range of light meals and snacks, daily, except over Christmas. A special events programme operates. Visit our website for more details. The children’s play area offers fun for ages 3 – 14 years. Enjoy unlimited parking with our annual season ticket.
