Hi, I’m Emily and I’m running for Vice President/External Officer!I have experience in the role of External Officer, having successfully represented the views of Sidney students at CUSU, as well as

communicating decisions made at CUSU to students back in college for the last two terms. I have participated in Presidents & Externals meetings, CUSU Councils and acted as the college’s Returning Officer in the recent CUSU Elections, all of which have helped me gain experience in the running of CUSU and I feel confident that I can continue to successfully represent Sidney at University wide level.

Regarding the additional Vice Presidential duties I feel that my involvement in SSCSU so far has given me a good insight into what would be expected of me. I am aware of what all the roles in SSCSU do and so should I be required to fill one if it became vacant I feel confident I could do so successfully. I have taken minutes at a variety of SSCSU meetings and so know that I can produce clear and concise reports, an important part of the VP role. I am keen to improve the present reporting system that provides the basis for discussion at Catering & Accommodations Committee and would particularly like to create a ‘How to report maintenance problems to college’ sheet, as I’m not sure many people know how to do this.

I have really enjoyed my time as External Officer and would love the opportunity to continue working to represent Sidney students, both at university and collegiate level.
