WEEK 3 - YEAR 5/6 PE

1. CREATE YOUR OWN TARGET GAME

Your task is to create your own Target Game. Think back to all of the target activities we participated in throughout Term 1. When designing your game you will need to be creative – instead of being able to use equipment from our Gym storeroom, you will need to think of items and objects around your house that you could use instead. Here are some questions to consider as you create your own Target Game;

What is the aim of your game? Is the aim of your game to “hit the target” (like in 10 Pin Bowling and Darts) or to get “as close to the target as possible” (like in Lawn Bowls and Golf)?

What skills will be used? eg. underarm throw, overarm throw, roll, kick or hit/strike

What equipment will be used? o What objects could you use to throw, roll, kick, or hit/strike? o What objects could you use for targets or obstacles?

Where will your game be played? Consider what size space is required and remember you may be restricted to a space within your back yard or even inside your house.

What will your target be? What size will it be? Will it be moving? Will there be more than one target? How far away will your target/s be?

Will you include any obstacles?

What are the rules of the game?

Is there a point scoring system?

How many players can play at any one time?

What title will you give your game?

Complete the “Create Your Own Target Game” worksheet.

Feel free to include diagrams/pictures to help you to explain the game – perhaps even a

video! Please share with me on Xuno.

2. PHYSICAL ACTIVITY CALENDAR

Please try and keep active during your time at home. It could be going for a bike ride,

scooter, run or walk with your family, walking your dog, bouncing on your trampoline,

completing a Circuit like in our Dice Game and Workout with Joe, dancing, kicking/throwing a

ball against the wall or with a family member, skipping with a skipping rope, ….. the options

are endless!

Record any physical activity you complete in the Physical Activity Calendar.
