Dear Parents and Carers
We’ve had a super week in school ending with a whole school Languages Day on
Friday, organised by Miss Green and the School Council. The children were wearing a
range of different colours to reflect the flags of the many countries whose language
and culture the children had the chance to study. At lunchtime the kitchen staff
provided some wonderful food from around the world. It looked delicious and of
course very nutritious. Parents will today receive a letter from Aspens the caterers
outlining how to register with Aspens Selects. Parents can, if they wish, choose the
meal for their child and children currently bringing sandwiches can also pay for and
book cooked meals. Mrs Whitehead
Year 6 SATs Results This week the Year 6 SATs results were released and I am delighted to share them
with parents. Our results are again excellent. Well done to the Year 6 class, we’re
really proud of every one of you.
At Maney Hill I am very fortunate to work with an amazing staff. The children join our
Reception classes broadly in line with national averages and by the time they leave us
in Year 6 the children are consistently achieving well above national averages. The
teachers and teaching assistants in every class do their best to make sure all children
are happy, learn well and achieve their potential. Thank you to Mrs Stonehill and Mrs
Brown and to all our staff for being such a great team.

One of the reasons parents choose our school for their children is because we provide
very high quality teaching and learning. But we certainly couldn’t do it without the
wonderful support from home. So a very big thank you to all our parents and families.

Year 6 Basic First Aid Training During Thursday afternoon the Year 6 class
received basic First Aid training.
During the training they learnt first aid such as
how to apply bandages and slings. It was a
practical session and the children were able to
have a go at applying them to each other.
They also learnt what to do in an emergency
including who to call and what key information
to give.

A trip back in time….
On Monday and Tuesday Year 3 visited Bishops
Wood and travelled back in time to the Stone Age.
They had a full day of experiencing what it would
be like to live at that time.
They had the opportunity to take part in lots of
activities for example building a Stone Age home,
making a fire and finding ways to create food. It was a
very enjoyable day and the children were impeccably behaved. Thank you to all adults who volunteered on
the day. Mr. Jackson and Miss Brown
