Managing Medical

Emergencies in the

Dental Clinic An Educational Program

Customizable Hands-on Education

This 2 to 6 hour hands-on, immersive program offers

dental professionals the opportunity to practice

managing medical emergencies in your own clinic using

your medical equipment and emergency kit.

During interactive discussion, select medical emergencies

are reviewed, including signs and symptoms, basic

pathophysiology, and interventions. Equipment and

emergency kit items are demonstrated.

After the discussion, staff participate in a series of

realistic simulated emergencies. Emergency kit items and

equipment are used.

Participants have an opportunity to review and discuss

actions taken during the simulation in a debriefing

session. Debriefing sessions follow each simulation.

Participant Comments

It was great to use our equipment and supplies.

We all take CPR, but applying it to a real situation is different.

I’ve never experienced anything like this before. We should do this every few months.

The instructors were very knowledgeable and approachable.

I learned how to use emergency equipment I’ve never used before. Very valuable!
