CONVOCATION OF THE 2016 ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING: All owners should have received their copy of the Convocation which was mailed in February 2016, for the Annual Meeting will take place on April 12th, 2016 as scheduled. Any owner that has not received the Convocation, please contact the Executive Office via email [email protected] to receive a copy so that you may vote on the agenda items.

Proposed new Club Dues 2017 (Pending approval of the proposed Budget for F/Y 2015/2016 at the Annual Members Meeting April 2016)

$568.00 – Superior $671.00 – Deluxe

$781.00 – Royal Superb

Paying annual Club Dues, timeshare maintenance fees, is part and parcel of what separates timeshare ownership from just renting vacation accommodations annually. You should understand the annual maintenance fees, so here are a few tips:

Paying your fees promptly and in full is your way of taking responsibility for the upkeep of your Resort.

All owners receive the yearly Financial Statements and the new projected Fiscal Year budget in the Convocation of the ABCCA Annual General Meeting which provide you with a breakdown of total projected fees billed, collected and what those fees will be used for in the upcoming Fiscal Year.

Keep in mind that annual maintenance fees DO rise over time. A recent study by the National Timeshare Owners Association in the USA showed that the average annual increase was about 6%. Increases in Club Dues/maintenance fees over the past five years here at the Aruba Beach Club Resort have been kept to 5% annual increase. Considering the age of our Resort and its geographical and logistical location, we are pleased and hope you, the owners, are pleased as well.

ARUBA BEACH CLUB RESORT COMPENSATION POLICY

From the time when you purchased at the Aruba Beach Club Resort, it becomes your “Home away from Home”. When you stay at the Resort, you are not just a guest in a conventional hotel, but an owner of your vacation unit. As all Timeshare Resorts, Aruba Beach Club Resort is a nonprofit organization and maintenance fees cover operating expenses only. There are no funds in our annual budget to cover complimentary compensation such as free meals or free nights, as the cost would come directly from the owners’ dues. As in your own home, minor and major maintenance issues can occur, not excluding unforeseen situations as a result of miscommunication or human error. However, please rest assured that ABC Management and Staff continually make every effort to make your stay at our Resort pleasant and trouble-free. If any issue arises, do not hesitate to bring it to our attention, and you may rest assured that immediate action will be taken by our staff to correct it as prompt as possible. In case you experience any inconvenience during your stay with us, please accept a sincere apology from our staff members, in lieu of expecting any type of recompense.

NOTICE - PRIVATE RENTALS

The Aruba Beach Club Resort considers a private rental to be when the owner is paid

(monetary/non-monetary arrangement not privy to the Resort) directly by his guest, and

in turn, the owner submits the appropriate Mbr/Gst Authorization form to the Resort’s

Reservations Department for the particular week/unit/year.

**********

The Resort is aware of “Private Rentals” that increasingly, are being arranged by “illegal

brokers” who most likely take a commission on the rental he/she arranges. This is a

person (can be an owner, can be a non-owner) who sometimes surf’s the “Rentals Page”

of the Club’s Website, or another rental listing source, contacts the owner and offers to

find a renter for his week/unit/year. These third party, types of transactions, can not

only become complicated, but can cause additional work and/or confusion for the

Resort’s Reservations Department.

The Aruba Beach Club Resort does not condone the above mentioned practice.

All Risk is for the Owner and his Guest.

CLUB RESALES

There are some spectacular weeks at great prices. Don’t forget to invite your friends or relatives that may be

interested in becoming an owner with us! For those who will be here on the Island, take a moment to meet John.

You’ll find his office under the Cayena Terrace, between the Members Lounge and the Activities Center.

Right now we have a $25.00 F&B Gift Certificate at Ricardo’s for referring someone to our resale office and after

the completion of the sale, which would be when the purchase is made and payment in full is received. Resales listings can be found on the link: http://www.arubabeachclub.net/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=6&t-21, and

on John’s Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/ArubaBeachCLubResales. “Like It”.

Settlement checks are issued to seller only after the buyer’s final payment, which is due 30 days after the date of sale, has been received and cleared by the Bank. Our Bank here in Aruba places an automatic six week “hold” on funds received via check allowing ample time to clear through the International banking system. After that six week period, the accounting department issues the request for check for transmittal to the seller. By the same token, Share Certificates are issued after the same six week period. Your understanding and patience with this practice is appreciated.

ABUSE Owners and/or Guests shall not verbally abuse or harass any another owner or guest, staff or Management Staff. In the event of a verbal or physical assault upon any other owner and/or guest, staff or Management Staff, Management shall recommend the Board of Directors to either suspend or withdraw ownership from the Resort. The Resort will not tolerate any form of abusive conduct.

Owners and/or Guests shall respect the rights of other owners and/or guests, staff and Management Staff.

ISLAND NEWS

Informacion on Zika Virus - United and Well Formulated

The Aruba Tourism Authority (A.T.A.) is in contact regularly with the Department of Public Health with official information, among other, the Zika virus. Of vital importance for A.T.A., its associates and the community is to be well informed regarding this new virus and its spread, locally and internationally, through investigations and status which the World Health Organization announces. A.T.A. depends on our public relations that work in the exterior and in collaboration with all organizations locally that have official information to provide the message loud and clear. The elimination of the Aedes Aegypti y Aedes Albopictus mosquito that transmit the Zika, Dengue and Chikungunya Virus is in our hands. The Aruba Beach Club Resort has purchased four Zika Mosquito Traps from our contracted Professional Pest Control company. Each Mosquito Trap comes with a net and tablets, each covers an area of approximately 400 square meter. The traps are serviced by our own personnel, and are in addition to our regular and normal pest control services. Prevention is a priority on the Island as well as at our Resort.

Eagle Beach - Leatherback Sea Turtle Nesting Season has arrived!

March 20th, the first Leatherback Sea Turtle returned to Eagle Beach. Unfortunately there were many people on the beach and they did not maintain a respectable distance, the Sea Turtle was frightened and went back into the sea without laying her eggs. Volunteers of Turtugaruba patrol the beach throughout the season. The Leatherback Seat Turtle is in danger of extinction – you can help! When you see a Sea Turtle reaching the beach to lay her eggs, first contact the Turtugaruba Hotline 592-9393. Don’t get close to the Sea Turtle, keep a distance of 15 meters more or less. The majority of Sea Turtles reach the beach in the dark of the night. Keep the lights in the area off “Sea Turtles dig the dark”. Do not take pictures with flash, nor use a flash light or cell phone. Artificial light will disturb the Turtle from making it’s nest. Limit movement and noise so as not too distract the Turtle. The whole process can take about two hours. “It’s very nice to see the Leatherback Sea Turtle, but don’t let the Turtle see you!” For more information contact via the hotline 592-9393, e-mail [email protected], Facebook www.facebook.com/Turtugaruba.
