・Sales of semiconductor and display related materials, printed wiringboards and related products decreased due to slumping markets.
Advanced Performance Products (Sales: -14%, Operating Income -82%)
・Sales of IC cards and tags, and Diagnostics increased.
・Sales of varnish, carbon and ceramics, automotive parts, adhesive films, and powdered metal products decreased due to slumping markets.
・Earnings were down year-on-year due to weaker demand and higherraw material costs.
・Earnings declined year-on-year due to weaker demand and yen strength.
