Management in Action
Eff ective management at every level within your organisation ensures your business runs smoothly and eff ectively. Management in Action training will help new managers or anyone who needs to improve their hands-on supervision skills to develop their management skills.
Learners will work on a project covering a real business issue, embedding the learning and producing immediate benefi ts into your business.
For eligible organisations, it is being fully funded by the european Social Fund so there is no cost to you.
Who is Management in
Action suitable for?
New managers, team leaders and supervisors - anyone who needs hands-on people management skills. Learners will work on a project on a live business issue throughout the training, so they learn by doing and will deliver real business benefi ts.
If you have more than seven people, Management in Action can be delivered exclusively within your company, or you can access open courses with other local businesses. Both options off er unique benefi ts and we will work with you to ensure you get the best for your business.

The learning in detail
Management in Action training delivers instant change through a defi ned workplace project. The majority of the learning for this programme will be ‘on the job’, as the assessed elements focus on work place activities which are designed to directly add value to your organisation. Learners can choose their own time, in order to complete the programme.
Progression
If accreditation is important, you have the option to extend the course at a cost by one additional workshop and workbook, which will result in a nationally recognised ILM Accredited Certifi cate in Leadership and Management (Level 3). Alternatively, learners can complete a full Advanced Apprenticeship in Management (Level 3). This is ideally suited for fi rst line managers or those new to a managerial role. Some funding may be avaliable towards this apprenticeship depending on eligibility.
How much time do workers need to
be released for and commit to?
Management in Action training is designed to be completed over 22 weeks, during which learners will be required to attend four full day workshops, scheduled at monthly intervals.
Learners will also be required to spend an average of 2-4 hours a week to complete all other elements of the programme. Online tutorial support will also be provided to enable learners to discuss matters relating to the progress of assessed elements.
