Operating Instruct2 General Information
2.1 Brief DescriptionThe UC-100/101 (Unit Controller - Type 100/101) is a control subassembly based on the housing system of the MAN Roland INTERBUS subassemblies. It contains a powerpack, a microcontroller (with CPU, ethernet, serial interface etc.) as well as an INTERBUS master subassembly and an INTERBUS interface I/O module.
2.2 FeaturesThe computer has the following main features:
The powerpack units are electrically isolated DC&DC converters with 24V DC power supply.During power-down the SRAM memory of the microcomputer as well as the real time clock can be buffered through an integrated battery.The local INTERBUS-terminal has its own protection against overload.
The system CPU is based on PowerPC microcontrollers by Freescale. It has serial EEPROM, flash EPROM, SRAM, SDRAM and a Compact-Flash-Card as memory media.
The computer is integrated in the entire press network through a 10/100 MBaud Ethernet LAN network interface.
Other interfaces are 1*RS-422 and 2 * RS-232 (RxD, TxD). The input/output field bus subassemblies are coupled via INTERBUS interfaces. AN
INTERBUS master subassembly for the remote bus and an INTERBUS interface module for the local bus is integrated for this purpose. For INTERBUS diagnostic purposes an LCD diagnostic display as well as a diagnostic interface (RS-232) are available.8ions UC-100/101

5.1 The Power Supply
5.1.1 The Powerpack Units
5.1.1.1 UC-100The internal powerpack unit of the UC-100 has the following properties:
Two DC/DC converters with common fuse protection (4A/T). 24 VDC input voltage supply (-15%, + 20%). Integrated network filter. The 4 terminals for the supply voltage are located on the left upper housing side.
The two +24V terminals as well as the two 0V terminals are interconnected on the UC-100/101.
The local bus powerpack unit is a DC/DC converter and has the following parameters
The output voltage is 15V. The maximum output current is 1A.
The powerpack unit for the internal supply of the UC-100 is a DC/DC converter. It is specified as follows:
The output voltage is 5V. The maximum output current is 3A The necessary 3.3V voltage is generated from this 5V output voltage.
5.1.1.2 UC-101The internal powerpack unit of the UC-101 has the following properties:
A DC/DC converter 24V/15V with fuse protection on the primary side (4A/T). 24 VDC input voltage supply (-15%, + 20%). Integrated network filter. The 4 terminals for the supply voltage are located on the left upper housing side.
The two +24V terminals as well as the two 0V terminals are interconnected on the UC-100/101.
The local bus power supply is diverted from the above mentioned DC/DC converter and has the following parameters:
The output voltage is 15V. The maximum output current is 1A. The local bus voltage is electronically protected against overload.
The internal voltages for the internal supply of the UC-101 are generated by switching controllers from the above mentioned DC/DC converter. It is specified as follows: The generated output voltages are 5V, 3.3V, 1.8V, 1.5V.
5.1.2 The (Optional) BatteryThe battery powers the RealTimeClock and the SRAM in case of missing supply voltage.The lithium battery normally used has a nominal voltage of 3V and a capacity of 950mAh.18ions UC-100/101

Operating InstructThe battery can be accessed for replacement through the front of the housing.
Battery service life: Normally operated, the integrated lithium battery has a service life of about 2 years (standby operation approx. 12 months).During operation the battery is monitored via software.
1. Battery insertion: The battery must be inserted with the 24V DC computer power supply switched on, to avoid a high backup current and an extremely shortened battery lifetime.
Battery replacement: The lithium battery must be regularly replaced at maintenance intervals of two years, to ensure continuous data backup.The battery must be replaced with the 24V DC computer power supply switched on, to ensure data preservation in the SRAM.
A UL-certified battery must be used (MAN item no.: 07.93100-9010). Only qualified personnel may replace the battery.
Insert the battery by removing the battery cover (a) and inserting the battery in the correct direction (b).Then reattach the battery cover (c).An insulated gripper tool is useful for removing the empty battery.
5.1.3 Voltage Monitoring

5.2.2 The Ethernet Interface X2Although the Ethernet interface X2 supports all 10/100 Base-T operating modes, it has been configured by the software so as to allow 100 Mbaud full-duplex operation.The auto-negotiation is then switched off.
The usual communication partner is an Ethernet switch. An untwisted patch cable is needed for the connection.The switch should also be permanently set to 100 Mbaud / full-duplex / no auto-negotiation at this port.
Interface controller is the FEC (FastEthernetController) of the processor. This processor is connected to the 10/100 Base-T Ethernet via the physical layer module (PHY) LXT971A.The configuration interface between the processor and the PHY is MII (Media Independent Interface).The data of the Ethernet port (MAC address, IP address) is saved as non-volatile in the serial EEPROM.Three LEDs provide information on the operational status:

5.2.5 The Compact Flash Card Interface X1Slot X1 of the UC-100/101 supports Compact Flash Cards of type 1. An MS-DOS compatible file system is usually used. The interface controller for UC-100 is the PCMCIA controller for port B of the MPC857T processor.The interface controller for UC-101 is the ATA controller of the MPC5200B processor.The CF card must not be inserted or removed during Power On.
Otherwise data and the file system might be destroyed.

5.3 The INTERBUS Section of the UC-100/101The INTERBUS section of the UC-100/101 for the field bus connection of the decentralized control module has the following features:
An INTERBUS Master. An integral IINTERBUS bus terminal with 0.5 Mbaud or 2 Mbaud. A diagnostic display for fast bus troubleshooting and commissioning support on site. A RS-422 port for the field bus as a remote bus via a DSUB 9-pin plug. A 14-pin connection for the field bus as a local bus. A serial RS-232 diagnostic interface for service and diagnostic functions (RJ11 jacks,
assignment analogous to PCI.IBM-1, MS2000 and Hirschmann Switch).
Note:The INTERBUS master core function has been implemented by means of an add-on board from Phoenix Contact, to ensure the greatest possible compatibility (in particular for future new software versions) with the INTERBUS standard.
The diagnostic display as a module is also a Phoenix product and is already used in many Phoenix activation systems (e.g. the S5 subassembly) in a functionally compatible way.

5.4 Commissioning

5.4.4 INTERBUS CMD Software (Configuration Monitoring Diagnostic)The IBS CMD G4 program from Phoenix Contact is not included in delivery of the UC-100/101. The program runs on standard PCs with Microsoft-Windows.The program has extensive options for planning and diagnosing the INTERBUS such as:
Configuration (Configuration) of the bus structure and logical address allocation Display (Monitoring) of input and output data of individual nodes Detection and localization (Diagnostic) of errors in the system and the option of
message recording and statistical error assessment
The CMD also contains a library of firmware commands and error codes.
For operating the CMD, you must connect the serial port (RS-232) of the PC to the diagnostic interface X11 (RS-232) of the UC-100/101 INTERBUS master.According to the RS-232 specification the cable must not be longer than 15 m.IBS VME6H SC/I-T must be set at present as the bus activation type.
5.4.5 Diagnosis via Host Computer and Remote MaintenanceThe CPU of the UC-100/101 communicates via the MPM (Multi Port Memory) with the INTERBUS master of the UC-100/101. Depending on the software of the CPU, all commands implemented in the firmware of the INTERBUS master can be executed through this channel.
The CPU of the UC-100/101 can in turn be accessed through either the RS-232 (X11) or the Ethernet interface (X2)The software of the UC-100/101 can therefore communicate with the outside world through the press network.
5.4.6 INTERBUS-Firmware UpdateThe INTERBUS master contains firmware that defines the internal and external characteristics of the interface module.Each interface module contains a serial interface X11 (RS-232) through which the internal firmware can be updated. This process is referred
