Transcript of Malvertising: The Hidden Threat
into online advertising Cybercriminals are now inserting malicious code
to infect unsuspecting website visitors.
Unlike malicious advertising of the past, the ads don't
need to be clicked on, but simply shown to the visitor
Cybercriminals will upload
malicious code to an ad network,
then the network accepts the ad so it can be served to viewers at a later time.
Advertisers will bid on the opportunity
to serve their ads
The ad network will serve an ad to the cybercriminal's audience
When a user loads a web page with the ad, the malware will download to their computer
