What they did…• Dentsu is one of the largest advertising agencies in

the world. Its headquarters are located in the Dentsu Building in Tokyo.

• photographer Linden Gledhill and the creative studio Dentsu teamed up to make a series of paint sculptures using sound vibrations as a part of a campaign for Canon's pixma ink printer brand.

How they did it…• To make these paint sculptures, they first wrapped a

membrane around a small speaker

• They then put ink drops onto the membrane and the speakers were turned on

• Once the vibration started, the ink began to jump up and down.

• High-speed video cameras and still cameras were used to capture this

• Experimenting with different sounds and frequencies created the various pieces

Does it have potential?• This innovation is not necessarily something that is

going to stick around for a long time• However, I think that it has potential to be another

step in the world of art • Once again, it could inspire others to explore new

ways of combining art and sound • Could potentially be a breakthrough in this new form

of art • Also has potential for advertisement • Inspire other advertising companies to become more

creative with their ads.
