description

How green can construction be? Under the present need for better infrastructure, we cannot escape the fact that more construction will have to be done. We only need to ensure that the construction is effected with materials with a lower carbon footprint. Maleki products offer a groundbreaking option for decision makers to ensure that the inevitable growth is sustainable and ensures that the carbon footprint of their work is grossly reduced. Maleki GmbH targets to reduce global carbon dioxide emissions by 1% by reducing the consumption of the cement.

Page 5: Maleki india2014

Roads

Problem •Roads normally can have water penetrate, leading to damage of surface.

Solution • Treatment with DW 100 seals

pores & prevents damage due to efflorescence

Note: This is a treatment done to concrete post cure, hence cannot rectify defects in the original cast concrete

Page 6: Maleki india2014

Bridges

Problem • Water & salt-water are

extremely corrosive when in close proximity

• High humidity combined with porous nature of concrete promotes growth of various algae, fungi & other organisms, creating maintenance issues

Solution • Hydrophobic behavior

brought in by LL 100 seals pores and makes the surface hydrophobic -thereby taking care of both issues

Page 7: Maleki india2014

Dockyard Structures

Problem • In addition to water/saltwater

issues, dockyard structures are exposed to pollutants & chemically aggressive environments.

• Particulates in water also physically wear and erode the concrete structures.

Solution • DW100/LL100 combination

to be considered to resolve these issues

Page 8: Maleki india2014

Dams & Storage Tanks

Problem • Water under pressure

• Conventional treatments are only preferred on the +ve side - difficult to work on

Solution • Maleki materials work

from both +ve & -ve side

• DW100 / DS 220 / DS 250 Flex

Page 9: Maleki india2014

Pipes

Problem • Concrete pipes are designed for

long duration uses, typically installed in difficult to access locations

• Typical uses are for either storm water or sewage and hence their wall thickness is overdesigned, assuming loss in wall thickness over its designed life.

Solution • Pipes designed as per structural

requirement - wall thickness can be reduced. Savings in cost of material then more than offsets the cost of protection by use of Maleki DW 100

Township drivewaysPodiumsMultilevel Parking

Problem Although slabs in such locations are not exposed to rain, the absence of waterproofing causes issues to lower levels.

Solution Waterproofing (DS 220 / DS 250 Flex)/ sealing (DW 100) of pores helps reducing efforts of maintenance on an ongoing basis

Basements

Problem • Water under pressure

• Conventional treatments are only preferred on the + ve side - difficult to work on

Solution • Basement waterproofing

can be done in confined spaces DS 250 Flex / DW 100

• Can be done from –ve side if +ve side is not accessible

BathroomsBalcony Terrace Problem

• Conventional BBK (Birck-Bat Koba) with its' inherent limitations also requires 4-6" ht.

• Intricacies of casting slab is required to accommodate the 4-6" ht difference so required.

• Process is time consuming - requires multistage, multiple day cure

Solution • Superior quality of waterproofing can

be achieved, in less than 3mm (DS 250 Flex)

• Floor leveling & subsequent tile laying can be taken up as early as 8 hrs after applying MALEKI waterproofing materials.

• Project times to completion stand to be substantially reduced.

2.External & internal walls with conventional cement plaster

3.Irrigation canals/Open water channels

Maleki > Waterproofing > MasonryMaleki > Waterproofing > Masonry

Page 14: Maleki india2014

Masonry chambers for intersections of waterlines

Problem •Manholes end up with corrosive environments - stepping ladders are known to corrode and cause a safety hazard to maintenance crews entering them

Solution •Cost effective waterproofing along with protection of large infrastructure fluid handling lines.•KM 750 / SWP 270 / TPC 220

Maleki > Waterproofing > Manholes Maleki > Waterproofing > Manholes

Page 15: Maleki india2014

External & internal walls with conventional cement plaster

Problem • Efflorescence, fungal growth

etc. contribute to lowering life of external plastered surfaces.

Solution • Maleki products ensure

closing of pores to prevent these phenomenon - thereby increasing the life of such external surfaces, in addition to their water barrier characteristics (LL 100)

Maleki > Waterproofing > WallsMaleki > Waterproofing > Walls

Page 16: Maleki india2014

Irrigation Canals Open water channels

Problem •Leakage losses from irrigation canals have the combined problem of:• lower delivery to intended users

as per plan,• increase in salinity of adjacent

lands• leading to loss in agricultural

yield despite availability of water

Solution •Maleki products are unaffected by UV and hence continue to function in the most adverse outdoor conditions (DS 220 / DS 250 Flex)/ DW 100)

Township Sewage Treatment Plant

Problem •Conventional materials offer solutions, but very few stand to the norms of green solutions

•Green solutions are, so far, available only at a premium

Solution •MALEKI materials provide green solutions - without the premium KM 750 / SWP 270 / TPC 220

STP Fluid Lines

Problem •Conventional problems have solutions, but very limited green solutions•Green solutions are, so far, available only at a premium

Solution •MALEKI DW 100 provides a green solution – with all processing done at works before delivery on site

Industrial effluent treatment plants

Problem •pH range can be very extreme

•Effluents can contain heavy metals, particulates etc. which will have mechanical abrasion as a problem as wellSolution •Special materials (KM 750 / SWP 270 / TPC 220) can handle pH ranges from 0-14•Abrasive erosion along with high chemical stress can be handled by Maleki KM 750

Metal protection

Problem • Many regions have metal

and masonry combination solutions.

• Interfaces have corrosion as well as leakage issues

• Corrosion of petrochemical storage tanks

Solution • Inorganic nature of Maleki

KM 750 provides the best combination of protection, safety and economics.

Protection of CivilMasonry structures

Problem •Structures exposed to the elements tend to wear faster due to porosity of the concrete as cast.

Solution Pores sealed by MALEKI DW100/LL100 1.Extremely easy to apply on verticle and horizontal surfaces2.Increase hardness of the concrete surface3.Seal pores to arrest any growth of organic matter anchored on these surfaces

Page 31: Maleki india2014

Pre-tiling floor leveling

Problem •High level of skill required•Time consuming process•Load level being high leads to RRC need to be overdesigned.

Solution • MALEKI BV 310 - lower level of skill demanded

achieves perfect leveling - an intrinsic need for popular large format tiles.

• Leveling can be achieved with substrate variations from 2 mm to 30 mm

• Since leveling is achieved with minimum increase in floor height, total loading on slab is reduced.

• Reduction in height required for flooring also can have an impact on high rises.

Tile adhesive

Tile adhesives & grouts known issues / problem areas

Maleki > Waterproofing

Page 33: Maleki india2014

Tile adhesive

Problem •Conventional cement is susceptible to damage by high humidity environments•Shrinkage while curing can leave hollows between the tile and substrate floor – unsupported surfaces are prone to early damage.

Solution • MALEKI FK 601 – is an ecofriendly product

due to the reduction of your dependence on cement.

• Lighter and smoother consistency helps better adhesion without leaving air gaps

• Hydraulic cure binder – designed for use in high water regions such as kitchens and laundry areas. Also used to for swimming pool tiling.

Page 34: Maleki india2014

Problem •Tile grouts are typically not water resistant•Water resistant grouts are predominantly of organic origin.

Solution • MALEKI FF20 Ultra – water based

inorganic material – no additives and blending required onsite. Just add water to desired consistency and use.

• Works not just in wet environments, but also withstands acids and alkaline cleaning media

• Entire family of materials available to suit your specific requirements.
