Special Forces RegimentRejimen Gerak Khas (RGK)

Established: August 1st 1965

Regimental Badge

There are 2 types of special serviceregiments in the Special Forces Group, the Commando Regimentand the Special Operation Forces (SOF) Regiment. Thedifference in roles between SOF and Commandois that the SOF consist of highly specialize squadrons to locate, report, harass and disrupt the enemythrough long range infiltration as well as operating in close collaboration with guerilla or partisan forces

meanwhile the Commando would launch offensive operations independently via sea, land and air inenemy controlled territory and also conduct information gathering missions.

Each squadron usually comprise of a HQ element, 3 combat troops and a support troop. A squadronusually commanded by a Major, troop commanded by a Captain while a section is commanded by aSergeant.

Special Operation Forces Regiment

Units in SOF Regiment are classified. Known units includes but not limited to

Special Reconnaissance Squadron (Sierra and Tango) - Skuadron Tinjau Khas

Anti-Terrorist Squadron (Uniform) - Skuadron Melawan Keganasan

Combat Rescue Team (CRT)Anti-Terrorist Unit - Unit Lawan Keganasan (ULK)
