• Malawi Library Information Consortium (MALICO): Participates in the acquisition and delivery of relevant electronic resources. With support of the Open Society Initiative for Southern Africa (OSISA) and the Open Society Institute et al, MALICO mounted four VSATs four Malawian universities in 2005. It also assists with digitising Malawi publications.

available to the Malawi nation, and other interested persons, info. which reflect the country’s historical, political, judiciary, religious, economic, social and cultural heritage.

through greater awareness of the Museum’s and knowledge. • It will provide a well-tested platform for the

digitisation efforts of the partners. Staff will find it satisfying given its global reach and impact.

• Will be elaborated upon only after further deliberations with GLAM partners.

• Recommended that a pilot for 6 months be considered, as that appears to be reasonable time frame for the required planning, mobilisation, capacity building, co-ordination etc.

Outcomes

• A categorised image repository of the museum, with metadata and all images licensed under CC-BY-SA for free educational and non- commercial usage and adaptation with adequate attribution.

Objectives

• digitise, document and share the repository of the GLAM partners with the rest of Malawi and indeed the world through:

• · Organizing training sessions on how to add and edit content on Wikipedia for staff

• · Organise editing events where staff, existing Wikipedia editors and interested visitors work together to improve articles on Museum artefacts
