2007 - The beginning of an adventure

After racing triathlons for 10 years and having tried and tested innumerable wetsuits from all the major

brands, Jérémie Chapon, the founder of Mako, d e c i d e d that the only way to find a

product that would com-pletely satisfy would to be to create it himself.

The objective was to create something

completely new. To do that it was necessary to go

o f f the beaten track and try not to be in-fluenced by the products that were already available. That’s why he didn’t use any ex-isting patterns, the idea being to create a new wetsuit from A to Z .

In 2013 Mako was available in more than 60 shops in France and distributed in 10 oth-er European countries. 14 athletes trusted Mako for their Olympic race and used our wetsuits in London, including Olympic cham-pion Nicola Spirig.The Mako brand continues to grow and our goal is to continually evolve our products and create new ones such as swimwear, accessories and trisuits. With al-ways the same will to start from scratch and rethink the product to obtain the best possible result and give complete satifaction to the user,

whether they be a beginner or an international athlete.

C’est en 2007 que tout a commencé…

Après 10 ans de pratique du triathlon et l’essai d’un nombre incalculable de combinaisons néoprène de toutes marques, Jérémie Chapon, le créateur de la marque Mako compris que le seul moyen de trouver un produit qui le sat-isferait totalement, serait de le créer !

L’objectif était de créer quelque chose de nouveau. Pour cela, il fallait sortir des sentiers battus et essayer de ne pas s’influencer de ce qui était déjà sur le marché. C’est pourquoi il n’est pas parti d’un patron existant. L’idée était de repenser la com-binaison de A à Z.

En 2013 Mako était présent chez une soix-antaine de revendeurs en France et dis-tribué dans 10 pays Européens. 14 athlètes portaient nos produits a u x derniers jeux Olympiques dont la championneOlympique Nicola Spirig et le meilleur représent- ant Français David Hauss. Notre but est de continuer à faire évoluer nos produits et à en créer de nouveaux, avec toujours cette démarche de repartir de zéro afin de «repenser» le produit pour obtenir le meilleur résultat possi-ble et satisfaire le maximum de pratiquants, du débutant aux meilleurs mondiaux.

PhysioForm Technology: Equilibre parfait entre liberté de mouvement et gainage. Une coupe idéalement ajustée à la forme du corps, étudiée pour faciliter les gestes sportifs, diminuer le coût énergétique et optimiser la sen-sation de confort. Pour cela nous choisissons nos matériaux, tissus et néo-prènes avec le plus grand soin. Nous sommes guidés par notre volonté de perfection. Le concept PhysioForm technology a été créé pour que nos pro-duits fassent corps avec vous, les sportifs.

Balanced Buoyancy : La flottaison est répartie afin d’obtenir la position de nage la plus efficace et la plus naturelle. Nous avons choisi plusieurs compo-sitions de neoprene afin d’offrir la meilleure adaptation à chaque technique de nage. Ainsi, vous trouverez dans notre gamme des combinaisons position “Natural”, pour ceux qui préfèrent conserver leur position naturelle (souvent lié à un battement important), et “Extra support” pour ceux qui aiment être portés au niveau des jambes (faibles battements et/ou course longue dis-tance).

PhysioForm Technology: The perfect balance between liberty of movement and support. An ideally adjusted cut that follows the contours of the body and has been studied to aid biomechanically, reduce energy waste and optimise comfort. For this we choose the materials, fabrics and neoprenes we use in our products with the upmost care. We are solely guided by our quest for perfection. The concept of Physioform technology was created so that our products feel like a second skin.

Balanced Buoyancy; the buoyancy has been placed in our wetsuits so as tofacilitate your stroke by offering you the body position that is most suited to your swim technique. So in our range you will find wetsuits that have been designed to maintain you in a “Natural” position for those that prefer a neutral body placement (often good for those with a strong leg kick) and others that we have labelled “Extra support” for those that prefer to have a little extra hip and leg buoyancy (good for those with a weak/ lazy kick or for long-distance races.)

Le Yamamoto 40 est le néoprène le plus souple de la gamme Yamamoto.

Yamamoto 40 is the supplest neoprene from the Yamamoto range. Yamamo-to is the world’s premier maker of triatlon wetsuit neoprene and the bench-make in terms of quality.

Yamamoto 39 is the lightest neoprene in the Yamamoto range offering the best compromise between buoyancy and elasticity. It is also much more resistant to tearing than the 40.

SCS Nano : des Nano-sphères permettent d’obtenir le revêtement de néo-prene le plus rapide et performant au monde.

SCS Nano: micro-spheres held into this surface layer significantly reduce drag and aid hydrodynamics making this the fastest neoprene surface on earth.

Nos maillots de bain sont réalisés dans notre tissu Endurotek, association de Polyester et de PBT, qui est extrêmement résistant. Nos impressions sont testées afin de garantir une très longue tenue des couleurs. C’est pourquoi sa durée de vie est étonnante, que ce soit en terme de résistance de la matière au chlore ou de la vivacité des couleurs.

Our swimsuits are made using our Endurotek fabric which is a highly chlorine resistant association of PBT and Polyester. The printing has been throughly tested in order to guarantee long lasting colour-fastness. All this gives our suits a remarkable life-span, whether you’re a weekend warrior or elite athlete!

Combinaison désignée « best on test » (meil-leure du test) dans le magazine 220 UK en 2013. Cette combinaison conserve toutes les qualités de souplesse et de confort de la combinaison B-First qui ont fait de celle-ci la plus confortable et plus rapide du marché.

Pour aller encore plus loin dans la per-formance, la Extreme est dotée d’un néoprène Aerodome présent sur les 2/3 de l’avant de la combinaison et placé de manière optimale afin de gagner en flottaison et de faire de ce modèle une véritable fusée ! New Graphics for 2014The wetsuit that was designated “Best on Test” in 220 magazine’s wetsuit group test in 2013. It retains the award-winning cut, fea-tures and finish of our B-First model which make them the fastest and most comfortable suits on the market. Pushing the boundaries of performance even further, the Extreme boasts a panel of Yamamoto Aerodome neoprene covering two-thirds of the front of the suit. The placement of this panel has been studied to al-low optimum buoyancy and positioning in the water making the Extreme into a pure rocket! The Extreme is worn by David Hauss, 4th at the London Olympics.

Une référence en termes de confort et de performance, ce modèle a été désigné meil-leure combinaison de l’année 2013 par le magazine Triathlon Plus et “Editor’s Choice” par 220 magazine en Angleterre.

Une coupe épousant parfaitement le corps. Toutes les modifications ap-portées à la coupe ont été validées par des essais sur le terrain. La B-First propose une flottaison neutre et est donc particulièrement adaptée pour ceux qui ont un battement de jambes puissant. Produit porté par la Championne Olympique 2012, Nicola Spirig.

The aim of the B-First is to provide bal-anced, neutral bouyancy for swimmers who prefer a natural position in the water and is par-ticularly adapted to those who have a strong leg kick. Every modication and element of the suit has been validated by exhaustive testing by triathletes of all levels and in all types of swims. Our entry level suit, the Xperience, is made entirely from Smoothskin neoprene.To increase the hydrodynamics of the suit and reduce drag, the arms, shoulders, torso and thighs all additionally benefit from a SCS sur-face treatment.
