Making Of My First Draft

1. Firstly I opened up Adobe Photoshop and created a blank A4 file. This was done by going file>new>blank file. A box then appeared. I then clicked on A4 as shown on the right.

2. I then inserted my image onto the A4 blank file.

3. In order for my image to fit the A4 page I had to enlarge it holding onto the shift key so it doesn’t make my model look stretched. This is what it would look like>>>>>>

<<<<<My image looked like this after using the magnetic lasso tool

4. I then copied my logo and went edit>>paste. It looked like this:

5. I then enlarged it using the shift key. I cropped the white background out from the logo and just had the letters. To do this I used the magnetic lasso tool. This allowed me to just go around my model. The steps are shown on the making of first draft for my front cover and double page spread

This is the magnetic lasso tool

6. I then duplicated the Nike logo as I will blur it to blend with the background. I will do this by going to the logo layer and going layer>>duplicate layer

A box appeared and I clicked ok

I wanted to blur my duplicated layer so I went to filter>>blur>>gaussian blur

My duplicated layer. I made sure I was on this layer as this is the layer I want to blur

A box will appear asking how much blurred you want the image to be

You can pick by dragging the little arrow pointing up left or right. Left for less blur and right for more blur

Or you can just type a number in and it will show how blurred it goes

I blurred it to 14.0 and then pressed ok. It looked like this:

As you can see the just do it effect it had before has been blurred. This is why I have to rub the blur out and leave it on the edge

7. I will do this by staying on the model layer that I blurred and use the eraser tool to rub out the blur from his face and his clothing but leaving the blur at the edge.

It will look like this:

From looking at the layer you can see I never rubbed out the edges

This is what it looked like:
