‣ poverty is devastating for a significant number of COMCEC

countries

‣ poverty has irreversible effects on the children, since child poverty

leads to a vicious cycle of poverty

‣ the poor have low skill and very low labour productivity

‣ efforts towards reducing poverty in the COMCEC region should

focus on the regional and national disparities
