At the end of 2015, we set ourselves a goal to

find a group of talented young graduates from

various disciplines that would be groomed into

future Argon investment professionals. We have

always believed in developing talent in-house

and with the success of the two Class of 2012

Graduate Trainees, we made the decision to

make the programme bigger and better for

2016.

We initially intended to recruit only four

candidates, out of the 674 CVs received, but we

were so impressed with the calibre of talent

that we made the decision to offer contracts to

eight candidates. The eight candidates’

disciplines vary from Accountancy to

Economics, Metallurgy and even Biochemistry.

Five of the Graduate Trainees joined at the

beginning of July and the rest should be at

Argon by the end of December 2016.

Similar to the Class of 2012, we will be sending

the Trainees to London to join our global

partner Schroders Investment Management

Graduate Investment Trainee Programme for

four months starting in August 2016. Four of

the Graduates will train in London and the

other half will train in-house here in Cape Town.

This Graduate Investment Trainee Programme

is a project that is truly close to my heart and a

tradition that we at Argon intend to keep every

three years.

Age: 23 years

Qualifications: B Tech Management (cum laude) Majors in Financial Management, Quantitative & Strategic

Management

National Diploma in Economics (Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University)

Achievements: 12 distinctions (9 distinctions in her ND qualification as well as 3 distinctions in her B Tech)

Attaining Golden Key International Society membership

Litha has many interests ranging from problem solving to athletic sports and travelling. She is

currently expanding her knowledge in the investments field by studying towards a Wealth

Management qualification.

Litha started with us in July 2016 sits for the UK IMC and CFA Level 1 exams in December 2016.

Shiluva cares about community outreach initiatives and has been recognised as the Most

Dedicated Member by the Khanyisa Group. Shiluva started with us in July 2016 and sits for the

Mbali’s interests in community development have led her to participate in blood donation

drives, outreach programmes in children’s facilities and active involvement in her local church.

Best performing student in her residence at University

Revival has a keen interest in mentoring others and has been recognised at University level

for her contribution towards mentoring others. Revival has been hired directly into the

equity team as trainee equity analyst.

Revival started with us in July 2016 and sits for the CFA Level 1 exams in December 2016.

participated as a caregiver and organised various charity events for children’s homes in her
