    Makeup Morgue

A Makeup Morgue is a compilation of pictures from magazines, photos, reproductions of

artwork, etc. that depict different ages and facial characteristics. It is used as a research source in

    designing makeup for specific characters.

All pictures need to be contained in some manner and divided into the assigned categories

(categories listed on next page). Possibilities for organization include photo albums or three ring binders

with plastic page protectors. Having your photos mounted behind plastic (i.e. photo albums or binders

with page protectors) will help to protect them from makeup spills. Part of your grade will be based on

the neatness and clarity of the morgue. Torn out pictures with ragged edges are discouraged! Keep in

mind that a makeup morgue can and should be used throughout your career, so room for expansionis

necessary. It is very helpful if you can easily remove a page to work from a particular photo. *Morgues

must be PAPER formatelectronic morgues will NOT be accepted.

Pictures need to be clear and large enough to be useful. Small pictures will not give you enough

detail, and a reliance on them will potentially lower the overall grade of the Morgue. To give you a

frame of reference, in no picture should the facebe smaller than approximately 2. Include pictures ofboth sexes as well as people from different races and cultures than your own. Pictures downloaded from

the Internet are fine as long as they are clear and show good detail. Pictures should come from multiple

    sources (at least three).

The Morgue will be turned in on the due date on the syllabus, with a MINIMUM of the number

of pictures in each of the categories listed. The minimum requirement is equal to a C grade. What raises

the grade from a C includes but is not limited to: picture size and quality, variety of pictures, and

organization/neatness of the Morgue. Additional pictures and/or categories are encouraged and can

help to raise your grade, but they are notrequired.

The Morgue will be used for research and in-class projects throughout the semester.
