We are Makemore. A branding and product development consultancy that focuses on creating consumer products for artists and crafters. We make it all happen, from concept to shelf, in-store, and on the web.

What makes us different from other product development companies?
We focus on the product as a whole. That means when we design a product we keep in mind what the packaging is going to look like, what the display will look like, and how the product will be marketed towards customers.
Because we specialize in both graphic and product design we have the ability to design all aspects around a product, including websites, videos, brochures, and promotional materials. We understand how the branding around a product can elevate its value to a customer, which is why we help create a cohesive brand message.

The Sensu Brush & Stylus was designed out of the desire for a real artist tool
for the iPad. Created with a proprietary formula and infusion process, synthetic
capacitive hairs are then shaped by hand by experienced brush makers. The
protective cap doubles as the handle of the brush and when not in use the
stylus end is exposed for sketching and note taking. The Sensu Brush &
Stylus was first launched on Kickstarter, where we raised $68,000, landing
us in the “most funded project” page.

We designed the Sensu Brush & Stylus counter display to be eye-catching
and efficient. The easily interchangeable graphics panel communicates
usage and features with striking photos and iconic graphics. The graphics
panel can be updated to accommodate alternate languages, sku variations,
or customized retailer logos. The display packs flat in five separate acrylic
pieces that assemble with no tools. Low shipping costs. Easy no-tools
assembly. Easily customizable. Design thinking from beginning to end.

We developed the Sensu Solo to be a more economical and colorful
version of the Sensu Brush & Stylus. We recognized the need to
appeal to a greater audience by pursuing a lower price point from
the original Sensu brush. By eliminating the stylus nib we were able
to reduce cost and cut the retail price by 38%.

We designed the Sensu Solo to use the same brush head as the
Sensu Brush & Stylus, but with a more classic shape to the handle.
The handle is milled of solid aluminum and has just the right amount
of weight and balance. We chose five appealing colors for the
handle that can suit both genders and multiple age groups.

The Sensu Solo packaging was inspired by the five vibrant colors of
the solid aluminum brush handles. The color was a big selling point
of these brushes and we wanted the design to be consistent with
the painting appearance of the Sensu Brush & Stylus packaging.

The Sensu website uses a CMS platform for easy maintenance by their in-house team without a knowledge of coding required. It uses a plug-in to make the website accessible as an e-commerce website.

We developed the Catalyst series to be an innovative line of multi-media
tools for creative individuals. They are made out of silicone, nylon, and
wood giving them the versatility to work with many different mediums
including: painting, food crafting, ceramics, encaustics, and more.

The Catalyst brand has four different tool series: Blades, Wedges,
Mini-Blades, and Contours. We chose a variety of shapes and materials
to allow artists to find the tool that works best for their application. The
image on the left shows all four tool series, while the image above
shows all shapes of the Wedge series.

We designed the Catalyst display to be visually striking and able to withstand
years in a retail environment. The warm wood, coated gray melamine, and
galvanized steel frames contrast beautifully with the brilliant colors of the
products. The signage can be easily replaced and customized to the
retailer so their target audience can visualize the various applications.

The Princeton website needed an update in order to include some of the features required for a brand as content heavy as Princeton. Features added to the new website include: a search bar, faceted navigation, and blogging and project creation.

Why are we passionate about serving others that create?
We focus on the product as a whole. That means when we design a product we keep in mind what the packaging is go-ing to look like, what the display will look like, and how the product will be marketed towards customers.
Because we specialize in both graphic and product design we have the ability to design all aspects around a product, in-cluding websites, videos, brochures, and promotional materials. We understand how the branding around a product can elevate its value to a customer.
We love that what we create serves others who create.
