DRIVE-IN STORAGE RACKINGDrive-in Storage Racking is a low cost high density pallet racking system. This system is ideal for bulk loaded goods with a low number of product lines and is ideal for first in, last out storage requirements. The design is very cost effective. Goods are stored in block systems, usually two blocks serviced by one operating aisle. Pallets are stored in deep lanes. Floor mounted Guide-rails assist drivers to accurately position their pallets/loads in these lanes.

This system ensures the maximum use of warehouse space. This system is safe in all conditions at ambient or freezer temperature. Goods can be accessed by forklift or reach trucks.

Storage MethodReach trucks drive into floor mounted guide lanes between a side supported rail system to accomodate pallets which can be stacked up to 10 metres in height and between 4 and 5 pallets in depth. Pallets can even be stored up to 10 pallets deep. This system has a very low access and rotation of goods. Lanes are designed to accomodate the correct pallet load and reach truck specification, ensuring safety and economy.

Applications and advantagesIdeal for cold rooms, freezer rooms & ambient storage applications. Good for high density storage with fewer product lines. Using this system prevents damage by avoiding crushing.

PUSH-BACK STORAGE RACKINGPush-Back pallet rack systems are designed around the principle of organising space by depth rather than width. This depth arrangement greatly increases storage density. Each bay can be loaded with the option of two to six pallets deep with each pallet stored on wheeled carts or trolleys that fit onto rails. The rails are slightly angled to take advantage of gravity. When a forklift places the pallet onto the cart, the forklift driver drives forward and causes the pallet to push the other pallets in the lane backwards.

When removing a pallet from the front position the remaining pallets immediately stage themselves forward so that the next available pallet can be accessed. Push back rack is a LIFO (last in, first out) storage system.

Conventional handling equipment can be used. Pallet quality may not be too critical as carts or cradles are used to nest all the stored pallets.

PALLET MOLE™ RACKING

With the latest technology in compact, high density vertical storage, the Pallet Mole™ maximises the use of floor area and warehouse capacity.

Often production facilities need to store pallets of goods in the most compact way possible. The goal is usually to maximise the use of floor space; and in the case of cold pallet storage, the more compact the goods are stacked, the better the efficiency and ease of temperature control.

Pallet Mole™, enables “aisle free” pallet racking to provide a much higher density of storage than Adjustable Pallet racking, double deep storage and conventional VNA storage.

Powered by on-board rechargeable batteries, the Pallet Mole™ is driven on rails, into a specially designed pallet racking system of tunnels. Using the lifting platform and positioning sensors, each load is then transported to the furthest available storage location in the tunnel. Pallet storage and retrieval are both conveniently operated by the forklift truck driver using a remote control.

It is not necessary for a forklift to enter the racking system in order to retrieve a pallet.

A Pallet Mole™ rack structure is far more stable than traditional Drive-In systems. The mole system is supported at each level, whereas the Drive-In system is only supported across the top of the structure, making it extremely vulnerable to collapse should a single upright be damaged in any way.

Using a mole to retrieve a pallet completely eliminates the risk of a forklift driver damaging the racking while driving inside the system. No human can repeat the same movement over and over again without the possibility of a mistake. The mole removes ANY risk of mistakes inside the rack structure, therefore eliminating the possibility of any damage to pallets or racking while performing a deposit or retrieval movement.

The mole can move many more times faster and with 100% accuracy than any forklift driver, no matter what the driver’s skill level.

The mole system can be uplifted and repositioned in any new warehouse, as well as be extended vertically, should the need arise.

The Pallet Mole™ counts the number of pallets in each lane for stock taking purposes, and shuffles pallets to the front of the rack removing whatever is being issued from any given lane. The mole is supplied with a charging station, and can “rest” in the station when not in use – only applicable to the fully automated system. The batteries are changed manually. The mole is easily transferred from one lane to the next, as easily as moving a pallet into or out of the rack. FIFO can be achieved with this rack proposal, as there is sufficient room for an aisle either end of the rack.

automatically and continuously Deposit pallets presented in the pick face for storage.• Auto Retrieve by Quantity – When operating in this mode the Pallet Mole™ will Retrieve the number

of pallets asked for in the beginning of the sequence.• On/Off and Stop/Reset.• Shuffle – This format allows the pallets to be moved in sequence to the offloading face in a FIFO

and LIFO operation and where a number of pallets have been removed from the off-load face.• Patented Pallet Count Function – This function will count the number of pallets in any lane and

report the information to the hand-held controller. This feature greatly reduces the time normally associated with end-of-month stock-taking.

• Mole Removal – When operating in this mode the operator allows the Pallet Mole™ to be removed from the lane by moving all the way forward in the lane.

• Manual Operation – This function gives the operator the freedom to operate the Pallet Mole™ in manual when something is wrong or servicing needs to be performed.

• Teach Operation – This function allows the operator to teach the Pallet Mole™ when first used.• “Battery Low Fail Safe” Function – The Pallet Mole™ monitors the battery charge level. On low level

the Pallet Mole™ will execute the last command and return Home giving a “Charge” indication. The unit will not perform another operation until it has been charged.

• Each Pallet Mole™ is supplied complete with 1 of quick changeable “Lead-Acid Technology” battery pack and suitable charger. The battery pack is designed to operate within an AMBIENT environment for 8 Hours and in a FREEZER environment 4 Hours. (Additional stand-by batteries can be supplied to allow for 24 hr. operations). Alternatively, Lithium battery pack is also available as an optional extra, which will allow for an 8 Hour operation in a Freezer environment.

• The Pallet Mole™ requires no holes in rails to ensure operation. All positioning is done on-board of the unit. Each lane should however be provided with physical end stops to prevent accidental dislodging of the units.

MOBILE STORAGE RACKINGMobile Storage Racking is suited for high density storage applications. This system allows access to goods which have many product lines, where stock rotation is critical in environments where space vs. economy.

This system is used when your storage requirement needs efficient high density storage, providing a ‘first in’ ‘first out’ principle. Mobile Racking consists of Storage Racking Superstructures mounted on electrically-driven bases, which move over sub-floor mounted railing systems. When a pallet is required, the appropriate selected aisle is opened with the use of a push button control.

Mobile Storage Racking is also ideal for space saving in lighting, heating or cooling, ventilation and materials handling costs. In freezer store applications, goods can be accessed by Reach Trucks fitted with heated cabs for operator comfort.

RUT ADJUSTABLE SHELVINGThis slim functional upright profile makes it the ideal choice wherever books, files and records of any type are stored. With accessories such as file rails, dividers or bin fronts it can be easily adapted to the wide ranging needs of offices, hospitals, banks and other commercial institutions.

At the heart of the system is the slim rolled profile of the front upright of the shelving bay. It gives strength and stability to the rack whilst allowing easy uninhibited access to the items stored on the shelf. Adjustable holes are positioned at 25mm intervals in the height of the frame so that shelves can be precisely positioned to maximise the use of available space.

Backs of racks can be open for economy or solid clad where small items are stored.
