Honours Major:The combined Honours English program consists of 20.0 credits. Not more than 6.0 of these may be at the 100 level. A 0.5 credit must be chosen from the annual fourth-year offerings.

How to Upgrade (Teachables)

• Additional Basic Qualifications (ABQ) Primary, Intermediate & Senior teachables Specific requirements and pre-requisites Subject and Division specific Upon graduation, complete an ABQ course in the subject and

division of your choice

• Additional Qualification (AQ) Various subjects (e.g. Special Education, Guidance Counselling,

French as a Second Language, etc.) Allow you to become qualified in different areas of education Build on personal interests Varying pre-requisites Part 1, 2 & 3 (Specialist) courses can be completed upon

graduation

Multiple Teachables

Intermediate 2.0 credits in each subject area + completion of the ABQ course

in each subject area Example:

1st: 2.0 credits in English + English Intermediate teachable course at Nipissing (Year 4)

2nd: 2.0 credits in History + ABQ course, “Education in the Intermediate Division: History”

Senior 3.0 credits in the first subject area + completion of the Senior

ABQ course 3.0 credits + completion of the ABQ course in each additional

subject area Example:

1st: 3.0 credits in Social Science + ABQ course, “Education in the Senior Division: Social Science General”

2nd: 3.0 credits in History + ABQ course, “Education in the Senior Division: History”
