Welcome Message
It is my pleasure to welcome you to Coloproctology 2017, and to the
island city of Penang - popularly known as The Pearl of the Orient.
The Organising Committee has put in great efforts to plan an
interesting programme for the benefit of everyone. Common day-
to-day colorectal surgical conditions, as well as specialised areas in
colorectal surgery and advances in colorectal surgery, will be covered
in this two-day conference.
Along with the renowned Malaysian faculty, regionally well-known
colorectal surgeons have been invited to share their knowledge and
expertise during this meeting.
As a departure from the norm, a dry pelvic workshop will replace the
usual pre-congress live workshop. This workshop will undoubtedly
expose us to the horizons of the human pelvis that is usually difficult
to understand.
The scientific programme, I am certain, will benefit colorectal
surgeons, general surgeons, fellows pursuing training in colorectal
surgery, as well as general surgical trainees.
It is our sincere hope that Coloproctology 2017 will be interesting
and beneficial to all participants. We look forward to seeing you in
Penang.
