AMINI PRESENTS LAKE Bespoke Elegance inspired by the elements
A new enchanting hand knotted carpet reproduces the fascination of water into silk
LAKE GREEN Pile composition: 100% Pure Silk Technique: hand knotted Finishing: the carpets are hand washed, clipped and carved. The fringes are revolved on the backside and covered with cloth Size: only bespoke sizes
Lake is the new carpet from Wild Silk Collection, a fascinating line of rugs that draws inspiration from
the most evocative suggestions of natural and exotic scenery, declining them with endless
combinations of form and color as nature itself is wont to do. Hence, Lake, Ocean, and Flora convey
the feel of liveries, furs, animalier, floral and arboreal designs of distant lands. Designed for blending
into elegant, contemporary spaces, marked by impressive cultural depth and a passion for design,
the Wild Silk collection carpets are capable of seduction despite or perhaps on account of their being
utterly unconventional in so far as carpets go. This is a collection of one-of-a-kind rugs that bring to
the interiors the kind of emotions one normally gets when admiring paintings whose highest form of
expression is the sentiment of true closeness to nature. They convey the feeling of the jungle, forests,
and lakes, a wilderness untapped and left to itself, wild and lush. Crafted with an iridescent yarn
capable of creating unique patterns, dyed with several colors, the rug is knotted without having pre-
designed a graphic layout on the drawing board, but creating one while the item takes shape. In this
way each rug possesses a unique element, as it is impossible to replicate a pattern identical to the
previous one. Hand-knotted in technical, natural silk, Wild Silk rugs are custom-tailored, depending on
the size re- quested by the customer: this represents an addi- tional distinctive feature of this range,
regaling its purchaser with a truly unique item in terms of both exclusive design and bespoke
proportions.
AMINI CARPETS
While firmly rooted in Afghan tradition, AMINI harbors a cosmopolitan spirit, displaying unbridled
passion and love of beauty, along with a genuine desire to spread Afghan culture also through the
traditional rug. The Amini family history is a story of manifold cross-cultural references and influences;
a pathway of strenuous achievements; a gripping tale on the accomplishments of brave men. It all
began in the region between Herat and Kabul in 1962, when Sultan Amini founded the Amini Brothers
Company (ABC). Thanks to his well-oiled supply chain network of local artisans, he successfully
manufactured and distributed rugs and carpets of rare quality and beauty. These remote mountain
villages far off the beaten track became the manufacturing center of unique creations that took the
world markets by storm. Such widespread international success persuaded ABC, now a well-
established company, to set up a functional and modern logistics center in 1975. Following the April
1978 revolution which then led to the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan, Sultan Amini was forced to
decide between family and the business he had painstakingly built. The situation got ever more
unbearable for the family until emigration to Germany had become unavoidable. Through the web of
contacts built up over time and on the strength of his undiminished credibility, Sultan finds fertile
ground in Frankfurt to start up his business once again and go back to believing in his project. In the
90s, in the wake of the company's growing success in the homeland of design, ABC moved its
headquarters to Italy, consolidating its role as a key partner for prestigious designers and brands
alike. Headquartered in Somaglia (Lodi), today it operates internationally under the stewardship of
Ferid and Bashir Amini, the founder's sons. With product lines such as Kids, Jalal, Loomier and Viva
the collection ranges from children's furniture to unique items made to measure, for a total of over
1,250,000 sqm of high-quality carpets always in stock. The collection is digitalized and managed with
modern software that facilitates it easier to consult and view.
The AMINI division was set up in 2014 to express the Company's strong passion for design
consolidated over the years. The distinctive character of AMINI branded products: recreating in each
rug the perfect combination of materials, workmanship, and creativity. Whether traditional or modern
furnishing accessories, their technical and stylistic versatility allows for a host of different applications.
The choice of rugs range from vivid Tibetan to solid colors, vintage or traditional Oriental, in Nepalese
wool and silk: all handmade using the most traditional as well as the most advanced weaving
techniques. The breadth of the permanent collection, coupled with the ability to create unique and
bespoke items, is a valuable tool for designers, architects and interior designers. Whisper, Tibetan
Lux, Revive, Ariane are just some of the ranges in an ever evolving collection. Recent additions
MoroccanTouch and Bellagio, along with artistic collaborations with big names in design (e.g. Gio
Ponti, Scholten & Baijings, Carlo Colombo), represent a multifaceted world that never ceases to
surprise and awe even the most discerning beholder.
