To earn the Airfield Ground Lighting Certified Airfield Professional (AGL-CAP) credential, an individual must attend the AGL-CAP program and successfully complete a 100-question, open-book, multiple-choice examination with a 70% score or better; Students are not required to take the exam. Testing occurs Friday morning and the program will conclude at 1:00 p.m.

All materials will be provided upon arrival including a welcome gift and your Airfield Maintenance Reference Handbook used during the training and testing.

Training begins promptly at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday so we recommend arriving at the hotel on Monday night. The training program will last 3.5 days Tuesday thru Thursday 8:30 a.m – 5:00 p.m. and the optional AGL-CAP Certificate testing occurs Friday 8:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. To receive a Completion Certificate, you must attend all three (3) days of training in full.

To receive the prestigious Airfield Ground Lighting Certified Airport Professional certificate, official title and the special Training Academy “Wings” pin, you must successfully complete a 100-question, open-book, multiple-choice examination with a 70% score or better. Testing for the AGL-CAP Certificate occurs on Friday from 8:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. A boxed lunch will be provided to take with you. Students are not required to take the exam.

A block of rooms will be reserved at the reduced rate of $76 per night (not including taxes) at our preferred hotel below. When making reservations, reference the ADB SAFEGATE Training Academy to get this reduced rate. Check in is at 3:00 p.m. and check-out time is 12:00 p.m.

Transportation A hotel airport shuttle can be scheduled with the hotel directly for pick up from John Glenn Columbus International Airport. Please inform hotel of your itinerary in advance to schedule airport pickup. Return transportation to the airport from the Training Academy will be provided by ADB SAFEGATE.

Transportation from the Comfort Suites hotel to and from the Training Academy is provided each day by ADB SAFEGATE Academy bus. The bus boards each morning at 7:45 a.m., leaves promptly at 8:00 a.m. and returns to the hotel each evening around 5:00 p.m. after training. Bus transportation is also provided to a special dinner event that is held Wednesday night.

If you choose to commute or stay at a different hotel, you are responsible for your own transportation. The address to our Training Academy is:

A hot continental breakfast is included each day in the hotel lobby. Lunch, snack breaks and refreshments are provided each day of training at the Training Academy. A special dinner event is also included Wednesday night. Dinner will be at your own expense Tuesday and Thursday night.

Dress is casual consisting of pants, jeans, skirts, shirts with collars or not, blouses, sweaters, vests, sweatshirts and casual shoes or tennis shoes. Please no open-toed shoes, sandals, shorts, tank tops or athletic wear such as yoga pants or sweatpants.
