Come join us on SUNDAY, February 10 at the home Sally Labree (38 Old Town Road, Monmouth, ME 04259) for fun time! We start at noon giving out a few awards, and then we will have a potluck lunch.
Julie Anderson is keeping track of the potluck items, but, please come on over and join us even if you don’t let Julie know what you will bring! You are welcome, even if you cannot bring a dish to the event!
It is not too late to send in a recommendation for the Sportsmanship award! This is an annual award we give out, where the membership decides who will be recognized as being a valuable and helpful club member. The recipient will get a gift, and their name goes on a plaque at the clubhouse to honor them. Nominations can be sent to Julie Anderson (Phone or text 207-446-1604 or email [email protected]). We will read the nominations and then vote at the banquet on February 10.
To qualify for the award, the person must not have been selected for the Sportsmanship award within the past 5 years. These are the past recipients:
2017 Brenda and Dana Lary
2016 Cathy Small
2015 Julie Anderson
2014 Rick Casavant (and his little dog Jack)
2013 Lynn Aube
See you at the MTRA meetings and events soon!

TRIVIA QUESTION for Jan 2019:
Friesian horses originated in which country?
ANSWER:
The Netherlands
The Friesian is an old breed of horse dating from the Middle Ages. Its location of origin is Fries-
land in the northern Netherlands. The breed nearly died out before World War I and has since been
revived as a fine carriage horse. The horse is now being exported to other countries and its popular-
ity is growing.
