• Name

• Business name and website

• Business address (anti-spam law!)

• Sell online (yes/no)

• Connect with FB and Twitter (or do that later)

• Don't tick the kickstart options!

Lists & Campaigns• A campaign is the email/newsletter you will send.

• An list is a list of people you wish to send the campaign to.

How do you add the addresses to a list

• Type them in one by one

• Import them from your email program, spreadsheet or CSV

• Automatically added through sign up form (more later on this)

What lists to have?• One master list!

• Clients

• Suppliers

Note if the same person belongs (subscribes) to more than one list that counts as 2 subscribers, remember over

2000 subscribers Mailchimp will start to charge you.

• Individual addresses can easily be moved or copied to a different list using the ACTIONS options.

The legal stuff

• Get Permission

• Include an Unsubscribe Link in Campaigns

• Don't Use Third-Party Lists

• Why they are receiving the email (see legal bit)

Add a subscriber to a list

Lists will often shrink by 30% a year - due to unsubscribing and email address changes

(Churn rate)

• Offer something free if they sign up

• Put the link on a blog/forum

• Add it to your email signature

• At en event get them to write down their email

• Put it on marketing material

• Hold a contest

• Put it on social media

Create your campaign• You need a campaign name (internal use only)
