The results of performance are how you measure the success of innovation.

The green building movement is rooted in the belief that we take action to propel market transformation that shifts atoms of practice that dramatically increase the prevalence of green, high -performance buildings.

Even a LEED® Platinum certified building, or a Three Star-rated building, arguably the most high-performance buildings, cannot be simply built and left alone to continue performing. They must be actively managed, monitored and maintained to return their value and deliver on their performance potential.

GREEN BUILDING WELL BEING=

The USGBC is making strategic investments that foster innovation and cultivate the next phase of technological solutions to our global challenges. Already, we have seen amazing results. The recently launched Green Building Information Gateway or GBIG allows you to search, see, explore, analyze and discover a tremendous amount about a building in context to the rest of your portfolio and in context to other buildings.

We know that buildings contribute more carbon dioxide in the atmosphere than any other sector, more than transportation and the energy supply industry.

Done right, the built environment can have profound positive impacts on health – both human and environmental.

In the new paradigm, human performance must be seen as important as energy performance.

Every story about a green building is a story about people; people who live, work, play, learn, heal and shop inside these buildings and in these communities.
