a Yermal

The Bandra-Khar-Santacruz Samithi of the SSSSO, Mumbai adopted Yermal under the Sri Sathya Sai Village Integrated Seeing the hardships of the villagers to fetch water, the samithi decided to improve the situation.

For 45 days, the young men of the village enthusiastically did 'shram daan'. They laboured, free of cost, with devotees from the SSSSO, to bring the villagers the Elixir of Life! A pipe was laid to draw water from the well into the centre of the village, where two 5,000 litre water tanks were installed. Five taps were connected around the tanks to enable villagers to effortlessly fill up their buckets right outside their homes! On June 3, 2012, the Yermal Water Project was inaugurated amidst the villagers' energetic claps.
