Mesh Perspective – Number of Elements

Option A:Mesh generation based on the number of elements

Page 15: MAGMA5 0 Lost Foam Training 092011

Training

Mesh Perspective – Minimal Wall Thickness

Option B:Enter the minimal wall thickness.

The software tries to automatically generate walls with 2-3 mesh elements.

Page 16: MAGMA5 0 Lost Foam Training 092011

Training

Mesh Perspective – Single Parameter Set

Option C:Single Parameter Set

Generate a mesh for the entire geometry based on parameters that can be defined here.

(MS4.4: wall thickness) sets the minimal step size to browse the geometry in the first step of the mesh generation process.

This is the number of subdivisions into which an area, that is found after the first mesh generation step, is to be subdivided.

Defines the smallest allowed thickness of the thinnest mesh layer.

Specifies the maximum size ratio neighboring elements are allowed to have.

Specifies the maximum aspect ratio all elements are allowed to have.

Page 17: MAGMA5 0 Lost Foam Training 092011

Training

Mesh Perspective – Multiple Parameter Sets

Option D:Different parameter sets for different areas / materials

Use the “right mouse button” or the “drag & drop” method to add a material to a parameter set.

Use to create another parameter set.

Use to delete a parameter set.

Use to rename a parameter set.

Training

Mesh Perspective – Mesh Quality

Mesh Quality Check

The result “Mesh Quality” shows where and how many elements have not been ideally meshed.

Many elements that are positioned diagonally across from each other (edge-edge, yellow) can lead to inaccuracies in the simulation.

A single layer of elements inside the part can be critical.

Definition Perspective – HTC Definitions

All typical material matches are predefined by MAGMASOFT via the “Automatic HTC Template” function. These can be edited individually. You can also create your own template, which you can use for your future projects.

Definition Perspective – Result Definitions

Some additional results can be ordered.

These results can also be defined for a result sequence.(5%, 10%, 15% ...)

Create or remove additional conditions using the right mouse button. (see next page)

Double-click to edit conditions.(see next page)

Typical results are automatically ordered for the different process steps.
