There are two types of electric locking devices; Locking can be either "fail safe" or "fail secure". The mag lock is fail safe, meaning when the power is broken the magnet hold is broken Application Maglocks can be used for single swing doors, double swing doors and/or sliding doors. As there is no latch or striker plate required, the Maglock is suitable for almost all types of material doors and thicknesses including glass and/or frameless doors. The mag lock is preferred for double swing doors and and frameless doors as you do not need to run cabling through or around the lock. Battery Back Up Battery back ups are strongly suggest for this opening device as there is an electrical current holding this device closed Request to Exit Button (REX Button) A Request to Exit Button is required to break the magnetic hold when exiting. These are not include as there are several different styles. Break Force For domestic use the 180kg holding force is most popular for swinging doors, Commercial use more commonly use 230kg+ however it is entirely up to the clients requirements Sliding Doors Maglocks are a much smaller hold being 60/70kg which is sufficient for domestic and commercial use given the angle to door is opened, Brackets Brackets are optional are available depending on how the door opens.
