It is an exhilarating annual event for all photography enthusiasts and the flagship event that combines ‘Photography, Charity and Environmental conservation’ to promote photography culture. The number of contestants has been increasing from 300 in the first year to 3,000 in 2017. MAGING FOR GOOD

The multivariate competition creates a unique shooting experience

Since 2009, Canon PhotoMarathon (CPM) Hong Kong is a competition in which contestants compete to create their photographic masterpieces in line with the assigned themes under time pressure. It is an exhilarating annual event for all photography enthusiasts and the flagship event that combines ‘Photography, Charity and Environmental conservation’ to promote photography culture.

The number of contestants has been increasing from 300 in the first year to 3,000 in 2017. Since 2010, the event has been recognized as carbon-neutral after "measure, reduce and offset" to carbon footprints.

Bridging our kids in Asia with photography

2009, Canon China launched a cross-cultural communication campaign that connects the students from different countries in the Asia by image, regardless of culture and language among different region, building the harmoniously living society. In the campaign, students from different countries will be invited to share their culture and traditions through photographs. After photos taking and printing, students will share their comments on the tailor made photo frame, it will be sent for exchange with students in other Asian countries to build a ‘bridge’ among them.

The campaign continues to develop and there are 10 counties or regions have joined the campaign, including Japan, China, Singapore, Malaysia, India, Thailand, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Taiwan and the Philippines.

As an industry leader, Canon Hongkong works to bring a better life to the world by its imaging technologies. In aid of building an even better community, we offer professional imaging technology to support charitable organizations such as provide free product loan and photography activities.

With the mission of Imaging for Good, we partner with Hong Kong Council of Social Service to offer professional photography “Instant Shoot and Print” service at the “Caring Company" Community Partnership EXPO at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, so that the awarded enterprises can capture the joy at this memorable occasion.

Aside from charity donations and sponsorships, Canon Hongkong is even more eager to empower the society by getting in real touch with the needy and put love and care into actions.In 2018, On 2018, 71 corporate volunteers supported 8 programs for special education needs (SEN) children, low-income families as well as the environmental protection by serviced over 1,600 hours. Our team devoted in contributing to an even better Hong Kong society, meanwhile to proved that it was always more blessed to give than to receive.

Turning leftovers into love Canon Hongkong believes the enhanced positive energy in the community through continues interaction and sharing with service targets, therefore our team keeps involvement on regular service on surplus market food collection with People Service Centre. Every Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, our volunteers formed small teams to help collecting the surplus food from wet market, which will then be re-distributed to the needy in Kowloon City district.

As of the October 2018, our team rescued total 73,044.5kg leftovers on past 26 months, equally average 194kg of surplus food daily which included fruits, vegetables, meat, bread, fish and even fresh seafood. We are success to promote good use of food and also proactively enrich the service by incorporating home visit services to the elderly, singleton and subdivided room family. We believed our affects inspired and encouraged more involvement to take extra miles in serving the community.

Support community and sports development By maintaining a strong and positive relationship with the community for decades, and we are energizing Hong Kong through numerous sponsorships and Sports projects. Since 1999, Canon Hongkong has supported the 'Public Welfare Service Day' organised by the Hong Kong Community Chest to help the disadvantaged community. It has also added 'Public Welfare Day', 'Public Welfare Green Day' and 'Public Welfare' Day, to help more people in need. We also donated to World Sight Day for 14 consecutive years, the fund will support Orbis sight saving missions, giving a life-transforming chances to the needlessly blind people and families.

We also invite Hong Kong Red Cross Blood Transfusion Service to host a Blood Donation Day at our head office to facilitate staff to donate blood during working hours. Our sisters companies, Canon Hongkong Technology Co., Ltd. and Canon Electric Products Hong Kong Co., Ltd. also support this service.

Canon Hongkong has been the sponsor of Kitchee, a Hong Kong Premier League soccer team, for 15 years since 2004. Through years of sponsorships, supporting not only for international exhibition matches, but also for local soccer trainings and establishment of Hong Kong’s first soccer training centre, Canon Hongkong has been enthusiastically promoting local soccer spirit and breed of sportsmanship.

Protect the environment with action Canon has been taking solid actions to conserve the environment for a greener and better planet. Since joining the "Green Power Hike" from 2008, the team has been awarded the numerous prizes such as the remarkable championship in "Corporation/Organization Cup of 10km Category" in 2011, 2013 and 2014 respectively. In 2019, 2 teams from Canon Hongkong took up the challenge of 6.6 km “Day Run” with the management team participated in the 10 km “Night Walk” at Tai Mo Shan organized by the Green Earth.

Every year, Canon Hongkong staff and their family members participated the “Shorelines Clean up” Volunteer Service organized by Green Earth, contributing to protect and save coastal environment of Hong Kong.
