2. How to use
2.1. How to earn points
When placing an order, Customers can earn points based on the rate set by admin.
Our Standard edition makes sure that Customers are well aware of your reward point policy
by showing messages on many pages. For example, on Product Detail pages, there will
be a notification for Customers that says “You could receive some Points for purchasing
this product”.

Also, after clicking on the Add to Cart button, on Mini Cart, Customers will see another
notification “Check out now to earn points”.
If Customers have not logged in yet, a notification message “Login and checkout to
earn points” will be shown on mini cart:

On Checkout page, Customers can see exactly the number of points they earned from
buying that product in the Grand Total box:

Catalog Earning Rule enables your Customers to earn points based on specific products.
That means you can give your Customers chances of earning more points from some items
than from others. This point information will be shown on the Product Listing and Product
Detail pages:

Shopping Cart Earning Rule enables your Customers to earn points based on specific
values of orders. That will help you to organize programs such as “Earn 20 points for orders
equal to or higher than $500”. If Customers’ shopping carts meet the condition of the
shopping cart rule that you set up on backend, the System will show the points they will
earn. After Customers add products to the shopping cart, they can see the point amount as
below:
2.3. How to earn points for every action on site
Sign up & Log in
When Customers access the Login page or Create an Account page, they can see a
notification about the collectible points they will receive when signing up as below:

Subscribe to Newsletters
Customers can subscribe to newsletters on the Create an Account page, Newsletter
block and Newsletter Subscription page.
On the Newsletter block, for example, Customers can see a notification about the
collectible points they will receive:

After selecting an option and click on the Vote button, Customers will receive points, and

Tag Products
On the Product Detail page, our module shows a notification about the collectible points
that Customers can receive when they tag a product:
Customers will receive points after their tags are approved by admin.
In order to see the current balance and transaction information, they can go to the My
Reward page.

Rate and Review Products
Customers can see a notification about the collectible points they will receive when rating
or reviewing a product on the Product Detail page and the Product Reviews page as

Like/Share via Social Networks
Our module allows Customers to like, share or send links of the Home page, Category
pages or Product Detail pages via social networks to receive points. Customers can see
social network buttons and notification as following:

In order to like a page via Facebook, Customers just click on the Like button. After that,
our module will show a message to notify them about the number of collectible points and

In order to share a page to friends via Facebook, Customers can click on the Share

Tweet via Twitter:
In order to receive points by sharing via Twitter, Customers can click on the Tweet button.
Our module will show a new pop-up for them to log in and edit their post:
G+1 via Google+:
In order to receive points by +1 via Google+, Customers can click on the G+1 button. Our
module will then show a box for them to edit their post and share.
After sharing, Customers can see a notification about the number of points they received

Pin via Pinterest
In order to receive points for Pin via Pinterest, Customers can click on the Pin it
button. Our module will then show a new tab as bellow:

After customers click on Pin it button, points will be added to their account but the page
isn’t reloaded to show number of points earned for that account because Pinterest doesn’t
support API Callback.

Customer's Birthday
Customers can report their birthdays on the Create an Account page when they register
or on the Account Information page if they forget to report before that.
They can see a notification about the collectible points on the Create an Account page
as follows:

After reporting, Customers’ birthdays will be saved in your system. On their birthdays, our
module will auto-add points to their balances and send an email to notify them about that.
2.4. How to spend points
On Shopping Cart and Checkout pages, Customers can move the slide forwards or
backwards to select the number of points they would like to spend. They can also just click
on the Minus or Plus icons. Besides, they can enter this number in the empty box or tick
the checkbox “Maximize my discount with points” to spend the maximum number of
points.

On the Checkout page, System shows a similar form for Customers to edit the number of
points they want to spend for their orders:

2.5. How to spend points based on Catalog Spending Rule and Shopping Cart
Spending rules
On Product Detail, Shopping Cart and Checkout pages, there are many ways for
Customers to choose the number of point they want to spend. They can move along a slider
or click on the Minimize or Maximize buttons to increase/decrease the point amount to
spend. Besides, they can enter this number in the box or tick to choose to use the maximum
number of points.
Spending points based on Catalog Spending Rule
Similar to the Catalog Earning Rule, you can set up for products to have different types of
using points. The Catalog Spending rule information will be shown on Product Detail
pages and Checkout pages after products are added to cart.
When Customers go to a Product Detail page, they can see a drop-down list box which
contains all the Catalog Spending rule options of your site.
After Customers select an option, the System will show the new price (the discount price)
as well as the corresponding spent points. Customers then just need to choose a point
amount to spend.

In case Customers do not have enough points to spend, System will show a message as

Spending points based on Shopping Cart Rule
When Customers add product(s) to cart, there will be a “Spend your points” box on the
Shopping Cart page. In this box, Customers can select the rule they want to apply for
point spending in the drop-down list box. After Customers select the number of points to
be spent, the Grand Total will be updated automatically:

2.6. Buy products with points
With this feature, some products that you selected in backend can be only purchased by
using points. For these products, customers cannot use money to buy them. Instead, they
have to earn enough points to purchase.
They will be shown on the listing page as bellow:

If you don’t have enough points to buy this product, there will be a message of “This

2.7. Sharing from the My Account Dashboard
Customers access the Refer Friends page in the My Account Dashboard.

This page includes two main sections: Referral Programs and Sharing Options.
Referral Programs
Our module shows all the current special offers of your website. The special offers are
applied for orders that meet the configured condition for special offers.
Customers can see special referral programs with information including offer title, effective
date, description and policy of the offer.
Sharing Options
This section contains links/coupons and channels for sharing such as email, Facebook,
Twitter and Google+.
Link: The invited friends will click on this link from social channels or email messages
and start shopping. The system will automatically apply offer discount on checkout following
this link.
Coupon: Customers can send their friends the coupon code so that the invited
friends can fill in the coupon code box on checkout and get discount.
Note: Our module offers a new feature, your customers will be able to change their link or
coupon for sharing. After entering new url and new coupon, just need to click Save button
to replace old link and coupon and new link and coupon will be sent to friends via Email,
Facebook, Twitter or Google+.

Sharing via Email: In order to share a referring link or coupon via email, Customers
can click on the Email tab, fill out their recipients’ email addresses and the verification code,
edit email subject and message then click on the Send Email button. Our module will
automatically send that message to the provided addresses with the provided subject and
message.

If Customers click on the Gmail or Yahoo link, firstly, our module will request for
permission to import contacts from their Google or Yahoo accounts. If they accept the
request, our module will collect their contacts’ email addresses and display these
addresses in a window. Then, Customers can select which addresses to send the referral
email to.

After selecting contacts and click on the Select Contacts button, our module will
automatically fill them into the recipient email address field.
Sharing via Facebook: Customers can customize their message before clicking on
the Post on Facebook button.
Sharing via Twitter: Customers can customize their message before clicking on the
Tweet button.

Sharing via Google+: With Google+, Customers need to click on the Google+ button
to share referring link on Google+.
If the invited friends click on those links or use those coupons to make purchases, they
can get discount. After the orders are completed, Customers will get points under the
corresponding policy.
2.8. Sharing from Product Detail pages
Customers can also send referring links/coupons to their friends by clicking on the Share
with Friend link from the Product Detail pages.

Our module will show a popup, allowing Customers to share the product right from its
Product Detail page.
Customers can share via Email, Facebook, Twitter and Google+ by clicking on each
corresponding button.

2.9. Manage Reward Points
Customers can follow and manage their current points in 2 places.
Firstly, they can view their current points in the header as below:
Secondly, they can go to My Account > My rewards to view more information:
This page has 2 parts including Reward Information and Recent transactions
Reward Information: This part shows Customers their current balances as well as
description about the application rules on your site.

Recent transactions: This part provides Customers with a lot of information on their
reward point transactions such as ID, points, action, date and status.

2.10. Reports
2.10.1. Dashboard Reports
First please go to Backend > Reward Points > Reports > Dashboard.
On this page, you can access many data to analyze the situation of earning and spending
points on your site. To make it easy to follow, the data has been divided into 3 types: Life-
time report, period-of-time report.
Life–time Reports
You can see all the Life – Time Report about the Reward Points system to the left of the
Dashboard page.
Spending/ Earning Ratio
This ratio can tell you how many points are spent for every 100 points rewarded.
Cost for a loyal member

This is the ratio beween the total value of orders after Customers spent points to pay and
the total number of points spent.
Earning Distribution
Customers can earn points from many activities on your site such as Order, Sign-Up,
Newsletter, Birthday, Review, Product Tag, Facebook like, Refer Friend or even from
Admin.
This graph shows the percentage of each source from which Customers earn points.
Average value of money per point spent:
This number shows the average value of 1 point spent by Customers.
Total points in Customers’ balances:

This number shows the total number of points which is currently available in all Customers’
balances.
Period-of-Time Reports
Period-of-time reports are the ones you can choose to view in specific periods of time you
like. Besides many charts such as charts of Loyal Customers, Points Earned and Spent,
Avg. order value vs number of points earned from orders, when installing the Behavior
plugin, you can access 3 more charts including Sign-ups, Newsletter Subcription, Product
Review.
To track information in a specific period of time, you can select the time range in the
dropdown box:
Loyal Customers
This graph shows the number of loyal Customers in your store in the chosen time period.
Points Earned and Spent:

This report shows the numbers of points your Customers earned and spent.
Avg. order value vs avg. number of points earned from orders
This report shows you the average order value and the number of points earned from
purchasing orders. It enables you to see a correlation between the avg. number of points
given to Customers per order and the avg. order value. What you will expect to see is an

increase in the order value as you increase the number of points given to Customers for
their orders.
Sign-ups
This report shows the number of points rewarded for Customers’ sign-ups on your store vs.
the number of sign-ups.

Time, Number of Orders, Earned Points, Spent Points, Discount for Using Points, Total of

ID, SKU, Product Name, Price, Qty, Earned Points, Spent Points and Discount for Using
Points.
You can filter to easily search for any information you want and export this table to

This report shows the total points earned by your Customers from all kinds of activities such
as Purchase Order, Admin Sign-up, Newsletter, Review, etc. You can choose to show
report by day, month and so on.
You can filter to easily search for any information you want and export this table to
CSV/XML/Excel file.

3. How to configure
3.1. Manage Earning Rates
Go to Backend > Reward Points > Earning > Earning Rates
Then the Earning Rates page will be shown, allowing you to do many tasks:

In order to add a new earning rate, you can click on the Add Rate button and then fill out
all the required data such as Money spent for order, Earning Points, Status, Websites,
Customer groups, Priority.
Please note that with priority, the rate with the highest level of priority will be applied first.
In case there are two rates with the same priority, the rate created sooner will be applied.
After you finish filling out all the required data, remember to click on the Save or Save and
Continue Edit button to save your work. If you click on the Save button, you’ll be navigated
to the Earning rates page and your rate will be shown as below:

Edit/ Delete an existing rate
In case you want to edit a rate, please click on the Edit link in the Action column.
Then you will be redirected to the Edit Earning Rate page:
After editing the rate as you want, remember to click on the Save or the Save and Continue

To delete a rate, you can go to the Edit Rate page and then click on the Delete button on
top of the page.

This tab allows you to configure the products to which the rule is applicable. For example,
if you want to apply this rule for cell phones, you can configure the condition as in the image
below:
If you leave this tab blank, the rule will be applied for all products.
Actions tab:
In this tab, you can configure the number of points that Customers will receive according to
the rule and how to exchange points when they purchase products. There are three options
for you to choose:
Give Fixed X points to Customers: Customers will receive a fixed number of points
for whatever products they buy.
For example, if you want to give Customers 5 points for purchasing products, then:
Choose "Action": "Give X points to Customer"
Fill in field "Points (X)": 5
If Customers purchase a product of $500.00 or $800.00, they will earn 5
points.
Give X points for every Y amount of Price: The more expensive the products
Customers buy, the more points they can receive.

For example, if you want to give Customers 5 points for every $200.00 of price they
spend and limit the number of points that can be earned to 15, then:
Choose "Action": "Give X points for every Y amount of price"
Fill in field "Points (X)": 5

Fill in field "Max points earned by this rule": 15
If Customers purchase a product of $800.00, they will earn 15 points.
Give X points for every Y amount of Profit: The more profits get from selling
products that Customers buy, the more points they can receive.
For example, if you want to give Customers 5 points for every $200.00 of profit they
make and limit the number of points that can be earned to 15, then:
Choose "Action": "Give X points for every Y amount of Profit"
Fill in field "Points (X)": 5
Fill in field "Money Step (Y)": 200
Fill in field "Max points earned by this rule": 15
If Customers purchase a product which contributes $800.00 in profit, they
will earn 15 points.
You should select one option and fill out all the necessary information as below:
Please note that if you choose “yes” for the field “Stop Further Rules Processing” then
all other Catalog Earning rules will not be applied. If you choose “no”, the rule with the
highest priority level will be applied.
After you finish configuring, remember to click on the Save Rule or Save and Continue
Edit button to save your work. If you click on the Save Rule button, you will be navigated

Customers place, the more points they can receive.

limit the number of points that can be earned to 15, then:

If Customers purchase an order of 40 items, they will earn 15 points.
Please note that if you choose “yes” for the field “Stop Further Rules Processing” then

After you finish configuring, remember to click on the Save Rule or Save and Continue

on the top of the page.
3.2.3. Manage earning points by product
Go to Backend > Reward Points > Earning > Manage earning points by product:
Then you will be redirected to the Manage Earning Points By Product page:
On this page, you can change the number of earning points for each product by 2 ways:

- Tick the product, choose Change Point in dropdown menu of Action box. Then, fill
in the number of points you want to set.
- Double click on Earning Points column of the product you want to edit. Insert the
number of points as you prefer, then click on Ok
Please note that Earning Points for products takes priority over catalog rules, and shopping
cart rules may still apply.
3.3. Manage Spending Rates
Go to Backend > Reward Points > Spending > Spending rates
Then the Spending Rates page will be shown, allowing you to do many tasks:

In order to add a new spending rate, you can click on the Add Rate button and then fill out
all the required data such as Points spent, Discount received, Status, Limit spending
points based on, Websites, Customer groups and Priority.
For example, if you want to allow your Customers to exchange 2 points for $1 to spend on
their orders, you can enter data as in the image below:
Besides, you can also configure priority for rates. The rate with the highest priority will be
applied first. In case there are two rates with the same priority, the one created sooner will
be applied.
After you finish filling out all the required data, remember to click on the Save or the Save
and Continue Edit button to save your work. If you click on the Save button, you’ll be
navigated to the Spending Rates manager page and your rate will be shown as below:

two options for you to choose:

Discount for every X points:
For example, if you want to configure that Customers need to spend at least 5 points
on products:
Choose "Action": "Discount for every X points"
Fill in field "Points (X)": 5
With every 5 points customers spent, they can receive a corresponding
discount. For example, 5 points can be spent to get $1, 10 points can get $2
and so on
Spend X points for every Y amount of Price:
For example, if you want to configure that Customers need to spend 5 points on
every $200.00 of product price and limit the required number of points to 15, then:
Choose "Action": "Spend X Points for every Y amount of price"
Fill in field "Points (X)": 5
Fill in field "Money Step (Y)": 200
Fill in field "Max points required to spend": 15
If the price of the product is $800.00, Customers can use 15 or 30 or 45
points for 1 or 2 or 3 times of discount to buy it.
Actions tab:
In the Action tab, you can configure how prices of products are discounted after
Customers use points:

Let’s take an example, to give a discount of $10 or to $10 for every X points and apply the
discount 5 times maximum per product, you can configure as below:
Choose “Discount Type”: "By a fixed amount" or "To a fixed amount"
Fill in field "Discount Amount": 10
Fill in field "Uses Allowed Per Product": 5
With the discount "By a fixed amount" of $10.00 and "Uses Allowed Per
Product" equal to 5, a $200.00 product will have its price down to $90.00 for
the first time of spending points, to$180.00 for the second time and so on
until reaching $150.00 for the last time (5th time).
After being saved, the rule which has just been created will be shown as below:

Give discount for fixed X points: Customer can ONLY spend X points on whatever
order they place.
For example, If you want to allow Customers to spend 5 points only on a shopping
cart to get the discount, then you can configure as below:
Choose "Action": "Give discount for fixed X points"
Fill in field "Points (X)": 5
If Customers place an order of $500.00 or $800.00, they can spend only 5
points in both cases.
Give discount for every X points: Customers can receive discounts proportionally
to the number of points they spent.
If you want to give discount for every 5 points Customers spend on the order and
limit the number of points that can be used to 15, then:
Choose "Action": "Give discount for every X points"
Fill in field "Points (X)": 5
Fill in field " Max points spent by this rule": 15
With every 5 points customers spent, they can receive a corresponding
discount. For example, 5 points can be spent to get $1, 10 points can

get $2.00 and so on. But they cannot use more than 15 points as that is the
max points that can be spent by this rule.
Actions tab:
In the Action tab, you can configure how prices of products are discounted after
Customers use points:
There are two discount types:
Fixed amount discount for whole cart
Percentage amount discount for whole cart
Let’s take an example, if you want to give a discount of $10 or 10% for X points (configured
in the Conditions tab), then you can configure as below:
Choose "Action": "Fixed discount amount for the whole cart" or "Percent discount
amount for the whole cart"
Fill in field "Discount Amount": 10
An order of $200.00 can be discounted to $190.00 with action "Fixed
discount amount for the whole cart" or to $180.00 with action "Percent
discount amount for the whole cart".
Besides, you can configure the condition of products on shopping cart to apply the rule.
For example, if you want to apply the rule only for orders having products belonging to the
furniture category, you can set up the data as in the image below:

- Tick the product, choose Change Point in dropdown menu of Action box. Then, fill

number of points as you want, then click on Ok.

You can also set products to buy with points by going to Catalog > Manage Products. On
the Product Manager page, click on your wanted product. Here, in General tab, you will find
the field to fill in the number of points that can be used to purchase it.
Please note that your customers only purchase these products by using point but cannot
using money to purchase them.
3.5. Manage transactions
Go to Backend > Reward Points > Transactions

Then all the transactions related to reward points will be shown as below:
On this Transaction Manager page, you can view a list of all point transactions together
with many general information including Customer, Transaction Type, Points Used, etc.
Moreover, you can filter and search for the information you want as well as export this table
to CSV/XML/Excel files.
You can Complete, Cancel or make transactions expire by choosing the status in the
Action dropdown list and checking checkboxes of those transactions you like before
clicking on the Submit button.

On the Customer Manager page, you can choose the Customer you want to change
balance by clicking on the Edit link in the Action column.

Reward Points Information: In this session, you can change the Customer’s balance
by filling an integer in the Change Balance field. For example, if you enter 5, then 5
points will be added to that customer’s balance and vice versa, “-5” means that
Customer’s balance will be deducted 5 points.
Also, you can configure other information like Update Points Subscription or Expire
Transaction Subscription
Transaction history: This part lists all of that Customer’s transactions:
Change Point Balances
There are two ways to change point balances of customers.
- You can change point balances for each customer by entering the Change
Balance in the Reward Point session of Customer information page. After you

save, the Available Points Balance will be updated.
- Another way is that you can change point for many customers at the same time by
importing points from csv file. Go to Reward Points > Manage Point Balances. On
this page, the list of customers will be shown with Point Balance column.
Next step, you need to click on Import Points button, the Import Points page will be
shown so that you can import file from your computer. Please download the sample
file, edit customers’ information then import it. After being imported successfully, the
Point Balance of customers will be updated.

Besides, you can also export csv file from the list of customers in Reward Point
Balances Information page. You can also use this file to import again.
3.7. Create and refund orders
Go to Sales > Orders
Then the System will display all Customers’ orders. Now, let’s see how Reward Points -
Standard edition is used in creating and refunding orders.
Create Orders
First, please click on the Create new Order button to see the Order form.
After selecting a Customer, a store and adding Products, you will see the Use Customer
Reward Points box in which you can set up the number of points the Customer will spend
for his order.

The Order Totals box will also display the number of points that Customer will spend:
After filling out all the required fields, please click on the Submit Order button to finish
creating the new order. Then the Order totals box shows the total spent point
Refund orders
When Customers refund orders, you can decide how many points to refund them as well
as how many points to get back from them. By default, the System will set those values as
the number of points that Customer spent and the number of points that Customer earned
respectively.
First, please choose the order your Customer wants to refund by clicking on the View link
in the Action column. Then the order will appear as below:

Now, please click on the Credit Memo link to process the order refund. In the Refund Total
box, you can choose to refund a number of points you like among those that the Customer
spent and get back a number of points among those that he earned.

3.9.1. Manage Offers
Go to Reward Points > Special Referring Friends Offer > Manage Offers or click on
Manage Special Offers link on Settings page
You can see the Special Offer Manager page shown as below:
This page shows you information of special offers in your site including title, website,
customer groups, effective date, status and priority.
You can delete or change status of special offers one by one or in bulk.
You can easily search for any information you want from the list by using filters.
Add Special Offer:
If you want to add a special offer, you can click on the Add Special Offer button at the
top-right of the page. The Add Special Offer page will be shown as below:

- Title: The title of the Special Offer shown in frontend.
- Offer description shown for Referrals: The description shown on the Refer
Friends page.

- Validate from/ Validate to: The effective time of the special offer.
- Priority: The special offer with the highest priority will be applied first.
Condition
This tab allows you to configure the condition to apply to this special offer. For example, if
you wish any order with subtotal equal to or greater than $1000 would be eligible to this
offer, you can configure as below:

In this tab, you can configure the actions to do with the offer such as the number of
points they will get per purchase made by their friends or the discount value the referred
friends can get if they make a purchase.
You should notice the following fields:
- Action and Points (X):
Give X points to Customers: This option defines Customers will get X points
per purchase made by their friends. For example, if you select this option and
configure as below, Customers will get 5 points when their friends make a purchase.
Give X points for every Y money spent: With this option, Customers will get
X points for every Y amount of money their invited friends spend. For example, if X
equals to "1" and Y equals to "300", Customers will get 1 point for every $300 spent
via the referring link.
Give X points for every Y qty purchase: With this option, Customers will get
X points for every Y items of products their invited friends buy. For example, if X equals
to "1" and Y equals to "2", Customers will get1 point when their friends purchase 2
items with the referring link.

- Stop processing further rules: If you select "Yes", in the case an order satisfies more
than one special offer, our module will apply it to the offer with the highest priority only.
- Discount type: It is the type of discount that invited Customers will get with the
referring link. You can select "Fixed" or "Percentage".
- Discount value: It is the value of the discount that invited Customers will get.
Besides setting Commission for referral and Discount for invited friends, you can set
rules to limit the products which can be applied to this offer.
Do not forget to click on the Save or Save and Continue button to save your work.
Edit Special Offer:
In order to edit a special offer, you can click on its row on the Special Offer Manager
page. The Edit Special Offer page will be shown as below:
After making changes to your special offer, remember to click on the Save or Save and
Continue button to update your offer.
3.9.2. Manage Coupon Codes
Go to Reward Points > Special Referring Friends Offer > Manage Coupon Codes.
You can see the Coupon Code Management page shown as below:

or multi coupon by selecting on checkboxes and choose Print Coupon Code on the

Then you will see 9 tabs to configure. Let’s go step by step to configure these tabs.
3.10.1. General Configuration
- Enable Reward points: Choose “Yes” if you want to enable Reward Points – Standard
edition.
- Label for Point: You can give “point” another name to fit with your store such as Gold,
Star, etc. If empty, the default label “Point” will be used.
