Magazine Profile Age – I will target teenagers for my new alternative fashion magazine, from the ages 13 to early teenagers. I think this is the best age range because most teenagers but magazines, even though they buy music magazines. With this in mind I will also feature music sections within my magazine to appeal to a wider audience. Gender – I will not limit the audience of my magazine just because of gender. I will target all genders because out our time gender is not just male or female, to cater to all genders I will have a monthly magazine, each month will have a different person, of different genders. Type of Magazine – The type of my magazine that I will create will be an alternative fashion magazine. The clothes worn will be mainly dark colours and band merchandise3. I have chosen to do this because the clothes worn are very important to the theme of my magazine and target audience. Cost and Publishing Schedule – This magazine will not be high end but it wont be really cheap, I will sell the magazine in alternative clothing shops to help the audience know what the theme of the contents will be. The cost of the magazine will be around £5.50 because it will only be published once a month. Most fashion magazines are published once a month so the price of the magazine can be higher than a music magazine. Size – The size of my magazine will vary from 80-100 pages depending on the celebrity on the cover, if the person is very famous then the interview might be much longer than just a random person from the street. Colour Palette – the colour palette for my alternative fashion magazine will consist of dark colours, but mainly black and blue. I have chosen these colours because most alternative clothing items are dark with just a bit of colour on it to make the text or image stand out. I will use a light colour for the text and header to grab the target audiences attention. Contents – The contents of this magazine will be primarily be interviews with famous people, the interviews will be about what clothes they wear and their inspiration. There will be different sections for each clothing item. E.g. A section for shoes, makeup, jackets. To appeal to a larger audience I will have a section for music, new and upcoming bands, news about new albums and other things like that.

Magazine Styling

• Makeup and Hair – The makeup will be simple with a focus on the eyes. The eye makeup will be dark with black eyeliner and dark eyeshadow. Nearly all people within my target audience wear this style of make up, even the males.

• Clothing – The clothes that the model will just be dark colours, black skinny jeans and band shirts or just a plain jacket or shirt. The clothing is a very important in this magazine since the clothes shown will impact how the audience perceives the magazine.

• Body Positioning – I will have the person standing with a mid shot to show off the clothes but the audience will also be able to see the hair and makeup. I will choose this so the target audience can identify that it is an alternative magazine straight away.
